Sister Wives stars Christine Brown and Janelle Brown are living their best lives following their respective decisions to leave polygamist Kody Brown. Christine and Janelle have remained close friends and still consider each other family.
But what about the other two sister wives left behind in the dust? Do either of them miss Meri Brown or Robyn Brown, with whom they shared a husband for so many years? And the answer is … not one tiny bit! To paraphrase Erika Jayne, neither of them gives even a single f*** whether they ever speak to Mopey Meri or Sobbin’ Robyn again.
Christine clarified for Us Weekly that she doesn’t have “any sort of relationship” with Kody’s fourth and only remaining wife. And Janelle feels the same, adding, “I’m not going to seek her out.”
Cordial but not friendly
“I’ll continue to be amiable when we’re together,” Christine said. “I have kids that have a good relationship with Robyn, and that’s great. Go for it. But no, [I do] not personally [talk to her].”
“I adore [her] children,” Janelle added, speaking of Robyn’s five kids. “I do hope that at some point in the future, the children can be more reconciled with all of their parents … But time will tell, and time is a healer, so we’ll see.”
While Christine and Janelle grew closer over the past couple of years, their relationship with Meri got worse. Neither of them was surprised when Meri announced her split from Kody in January 2023. Just like everyone else in the world, they saw it coming.
“I don’t talk with Meri,” Christine admitted. “I don’t really have a relationship with Meri.” Like the rest of us, she only knows what she sees on TV.
“My life really revolves around [my] kids and what I’m doing,” Janelle added. “When we see each other, we’re cordial, but we don’t really seek each other out.” Yet even though they aren’t connected to Meri, both Janelle and Christine have stayed in touch with Meri’s only child, Leon.
Both women are pleased that Meri has made her own happiness a priority. “Hopefully, she finds a romantic partner,” said Christine, who married “the love of [her] life” David Wooley in October. “I know that she’d like that, so that’d be the best. I wish that for her. Definitely.”
While admiring Meri’s loyalty to Kody, Janelle is also glad to see her finally choose herself. “I’m really, really glad now to see her being able to move on,” she said.
Mourning the loss of an ideal
Though Janelle still has some unresolved feelings about the life she abandoned, her connection with Christine and their combined 12 kids, all of whom share the same father, makes the transition a little easier.
“The saddest part was losing the ideal … this ideal family that we were working [toward] for decades,” Janelle confessed. “I mourned the loss of that more than the relationship with Kody.”
But Christine thinks the “family was split apart way before” she left. She believes that Kody broke the Brown family when he insisted they sell their homes in the Las Vegas cul de sac and move to Flagstaff, Arizona.
“It did feel very separate at that point,” Janelle agreed.
