Kyle Richards isn’t exactly known for her discretion when it comes to her castmates’ private lives, especially when it comes to commenting on Watch What Happens Live. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is infamous for stealthily spreading gossip about other people’s business without getting her hands dirty. I don’t know how she’s gotten away with it for so many seasons.
But when it comes to bestie Dorit Kemsley’s marriage, Kyle wants to remain hands-off. ICYMI – Dorit has been fielding rumors about a split from husband PK Kemsley for months now. She’s done her best to mitigate the damage, but the rumor persists. Even her castmates find themselves answering for her.
Kyle Richards’ WWHL denial
This is exactly what Kyle had to do on an October episode of Watch What Happens Live. During the episode, Kyle said she was unaware that Dorit had publicly shut down the speculation. But now she’s admitting that wasn’t exactly the whole truth during an appearance on the podcast Two T’s in a Pod.
The podcast, hosted by stage five clinger Teddi Mellencamp and housewife Tamra Judge, found Kyle confessing to her little white lie. On WWHL, the topic of Dorit’s alleged separation came up. It was previously reported that Dorit and PK don’t even reside under the same roof.
When pressed about it on live TV, Kyle responded that she “did not see that” in the press. And when host Andy Cohen followed up to see if she had “heard it before,” Kyle responded, “I had not heard that.”
Kyle cops to not “being honest”
Turns out, that same day, Dorit made an official denial in the press. Kyle explained, “We did not know that news came out that day. So when Andy said ‘Did you know about this?’ I said ‘No.’ Because that’s the truth.”
She continued, “And then when he said, ‘Did you know anything about this before?’ And I was like I don’t want to talk about Dorit’s private stuff, I know what it feels like. So I was like, ‘No.’ But I wasn’t being honest. But then I was like, ‘Oh, she has said on the show and on camera that they had a bad year.'”
In addition to being uncomfortable, Kyle revealed that she “looked a little nervous” simply “because [she does not] want to talk about people’s difficult times that they are going through.”
