It’s hard to imagine that beef between Meghan McCain and Ariana Madix was on anyone’s 2023 bingo card. Nevertheless, the former host of The View has come after the Vanderpump Rules star again, despite Ariana’s thriving on Dancing with the Stars.
The beef between the pair started in April this year. The two both showed up to the White House Correspondents dinner, but Meghan was hurt when she was cropped out of the photo that Ariana posted to Instagram.
At the time, one of Ariana’s reps told Page Six, “There is no agenda with this post whether political or otherwise. It’s just how the post came out.” Meghan, however, couldn’t believe that, and discussed the event on her podcast, bringing up new details as well.
Meghan says beef with Ariana is “unnecessary drama”
Meghan first spoke about the Instagram drama over the picture from the White House Correspondents dinner. “I post it, [Ariana] reposts I think Jerry O’Connell’s picture, and cuts me and my friends out of it. I was so confused and shocked, so I called my boss, and I was like, ‘FYI, this is causing unnecessary drama. Also, like, I didn’t even talk to her. What’s happening?’”
It was after the fact that Meghan realized Ariana blocked her on Instagram. “I found out on accident, I would’ve respected you if you just said, ‘I don’t f**k with Republicans. I don’t like Meghan McCain.’ Just say that. Don’t come up with this weird story and then block me afterward.” She called Ariana’s behavior “mean girl stuff.”
She closed with a word to Ariana and others in the industry. “If you are a person who’s coming to my town, with my people, in my industry, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, it’s a time we come together, happily. It’s a time for liberals and Republicans and everything in between, and journalists and entertainers, to celebrate covering politics.”
