In a shocking turn of events on Below Deck Med, Natalya Scudder and Tumi Mhlongo called a truce and decided to work professionally. It went a step further when the duo started getting friendly on the crew night out. What an unprecedented 180 for the Below Deck Mediterranean stars!
It does make one wonder, then, how did it start so badly between the chief stew and her interior teammate? As we delve deeper into all this, Kyle Viljoen seems more and more to be an instigator of the drama. He informed Tumi of Natalya’s problematic side before the two ladies met. Then he showed Natalya a text their chief stew sent him advising the Australian native to behave herself.
Indeed, Kyle is stirring the pot, and the drinks on this yacht. And in a sneak peek for next week’s episode, it’s apparent that issues will start between him and Natalya.
A Below Deck Med clip suggests Natalya and Kyle start to bicker
In one scene, Natalya calls Kyle out for putting his feet up on the job, in the most passive-aggressive way that we know Natalya can serve.
“Kyle is lounging again,” Natalya is heard saying as a clip of Kyle lying on a couch is presented.
Indeed, this is a trend. On the previous season, Natalya went after chief stew Natasha Webb, whom she accused of slacking off on the job.
Kyle, bristling, later told Tumi, “You can be so glad.”
“That I’m not rooming with her?” she asked.
It’s quite sneaky all around. To her credit, Tumi absolutely picked up on the behavior. And in her confessional, started to question Kyle’s trustworthiness.
“I thought they were friends, but if he is talking sh*t about her, he is definitely talking sh*t about me,” Tumi said in regards to Kyle’s treatment of Natalya behind the scenes.
The season is just beginning and this could play out a lot of different ways. What we know is that Natalya and Kyle’s friendship goes completely downhill. Perhaps Tumi will be a desirable ally in that case.
