Oh, dear. Poor Nick Lachey went from not being on anyone’s radar to being on the radar of the LAPD and now angry Love Is Blind fans. I guess that’s the price of fame the second time around. I still have to remind myself this man isn’t married to Jessica Simpson, so at least his negative media attention brought me up to date.
Nick and his wife Vanessa Lachey might be making their celebrity partnership work, but it’s definitely coming at a price. Last year Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee accused Nick of not being impartial in the series. Now this season, both Nick and Vanessa are catching heat for being awkward and treating the cast differently. Page Six has the details.
Love Is Blind fans want Nick and Vanessa to show themselves out after the Season 4 reunion, which didn’t exactly blow anyone away. Twitter practically lit on fire with angry followers ranting about the couple’s lack of charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. Viewers also felt Nick and Vanessa were “biased” towards certain cast members.
One person wrote, “This Reunion just feels so awkward. Doesn’t seem like there is any flow, hosts way too biased, it’s just weird.” Someone else added, “Unpopular opinion but Nick and Vanessa are bad hosts who are clearly biased.”

Another commenter said, “Oh good! I wasn’t the only one thinking this! Nick and Vanessa [Lachey] are easily the worst part of Love Is Blind and that’s saying something considering all the corny stuff and drama and terrible people that come on this show.”
The online protests turned into an actual petition. A Change.org petition called “Remove Nick and Vanessa Lachey as the Hosts of Love is Blind” has over 6,000 angry signatures. Their mission statement says: “Join the thousands of Love is Blind fans in making the show evolve into the best version of itself by removing Nick and Vanessa Lachey as hosts and replacing them with…. Well literally anyone else.” I do enjoy a snarky petition.
It continues. “From the initial season, the hosts felt pretty useless and out of place. They seem to be much more concerned with directing as much attention at themselves and their personal lives rather than focusing on the contestants that are actually participating in the experiment.” No lies detected here. The petition also describes Nick and Vanessa as “cringey.”
The founder of the petition feels the program “sought out any C-list celebrities to put their show on the map,” and now needs to “upgrade” the talent with the success of Love Is Blind. Not for nothing, it was pretty generous for the petition organizer to call either Nick or Vanessa C-list.
The viewing audience also wanted Vanessa to pipe down about asking folks when they’re having kids. Are people still being that rude publicly? One person shared, “Stop asking people about their reproductive plans, for the love of God. Anyone else cringe watching Vanessa Lachey interrogate the couples about having babies?” One fan compared Vanessa to her Auntie who would ask inappropriate bodily questions during holiday meals.
Nick and Vanessa haven’t responded to the enormous amount of people who want them banished from Love Is Blind, but Vanessa did have to disable comments on an Instagram post. Perhaps Nick and Vanessa need to take an evening off and relax. Go out for a nice dinner and have a soothing adult beverage to unwind. On second thought, maybe not.
