Vanderpump Rules Star Katie Maloney Apologizes To Scheana Shay

Letting bygones be bygones. In the wake of Tom Sandoval’s explosive affair with Raquel Leviss, it seems that the Vanderpump Rules girls are working through their differences. Perhaps it’s an issue of perspective. Maybe cutting Raquel from the group made a difference in conflict resolution. Certainly, three weeks have made a difference.

Either way, Bravo’s The Daily Dish reported that Katie Maloney is making amends with Scheana Shay. Based on their interactions in the most recent episode, reconciliation seemed impossible. Katie blamed the Good As Gold singer for encouraging Raquel to pursue her ex-husband Tom Schwartz. She had receipts. Yet, in retrospect, Schwartz functioned as a decoy for the real scandal.

VPR co-star Lala Kent confirmed that the group’s concern for Ariana Madix led them to reconcile. She said they were “putting things aside, anybody who had differences” to “rally around” Sandoval’s ex-girlfriend. Katie and Scheana were even spotted partying together.

“They did a DJ gig together for ‘Emo Night’. I feel like slowly but surely my plan is working to get them back together,” Lala stated on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

Katie responded to the WWHL episode in her Instagram Stories. She wanted to clarify the running commentary she gave while watching Scheana and Brock Davies’ wedding ceremony from her resort balcony. The event was featured in the most recent Pump Rules episode.

“I just want to say the things that you didn’t hear me say, because I thought it was a beautiful ceremony. I loved the bridesmaid’ colored dresses[and] I loved Scheana’s dress,” Katie explained. “And when I said I could cry, it was because the song choice that she walked out to was ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ and I thought that was just perfect for the setting and everything. When I got back inside and said ‘Weddings are beautiful, but not this one,’ I was going through a lot.”

In another clip, Katie noticed that the officiant was the same person that married Scheana and Mike Shay. The Scheananigans podcast host quickly explained, “[It]’s not odd that the same person married me [in my wedding to Brock] because the person who married us is my cousin, David. [David], sorry other cousins, is always my favorite cousin,” Scheana wrote on her social media.

In a quick rebuttal, Katie wrote on her Instagram Story that she never intended to sound critical. “The thing with weddings is that they are personal and people always wanna weigh in and have comments and say, ‘That’s not what I would do,’ or they want to pick things apart,” Katie explained. “I wasn’t necessarily trying to pick things apart, I was just being observant. And I’m not making excuses. I didn’t mean it as an insult and I apologize for that.”

She commended Scheana for personalizing her big day, regardless of anyone’s opinion. Katie added, “I think whatever’s gonna make your day special and meaningful to you, you absolutely should do that regardless of what anyone thinks. That’s always my advice. Be ruthless, don’t give a f–k about what people think or how they’re gonna feel about your day.”

Lala applauded the decision. While on WWHL, she said, “I kind of loved it. It was the exact same guy, but she made jokes about it…Cool, I dig it.”

It’s all good vibes between this trio of ladies that seemed splintered as of late. And Ariana can only benefit from having all her friends on good terms. Well done, ladies!
