Miss Mia Thornton is no stranger to doling out advice. She’s also no stranger to securing the bag, which is something she thinks castmate Ashley Darby should have handled differently in her divorce from Michael Darby.
The Real Housewives of Potomac star was probably just as shocked as the rest of us when Ashley admitted during the RHOP reunion that her prenup isn’t doing her any favors. Mia gave her two cents on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast.
According to Mia, she thinks Ashley’s mistake was having a public relationship with Summer House star Luke Gulbranson. “I think that Ashley needs to spend more time worrying about Ashley, and then maybe she would’ve secured the bag,” Mia noted.
During part one of RHOP’s reunion, Ashley confessed that her prenup “did not work out” in her favor. The mom-of-two revealed to viewers, “Essentially, everything that Michael came into the marriage with is his. The money that Michael made, that he then put into other projects later, is all considered his because of the source of the money.”
Ashley also added that her prenup is “ironclad” and doesn’t allow her alimony while they are finalizing the divorce. Yikes.
I hate to be critical of women entering into an unbalanced financial power dynamic when getting married. But I really need Ashley and Lisa Hochstein to serve as an example to others so they don’t make the mistake. Ladies and gents – get a good lawyer to review your prenup!

But Ashley is not going to be completely left out in the cold, so to speak. She noted, “I get my house. I also have some language in my separation and divorce agreement about some safety nets in case I have some financial difficulty.”
After announcing plans to divorce in April of 2022, Ashley sparked rumors that she was dating Luke after meeting at BravoCon in October. But the reality stars split just a few months later. Ashley blamed the dynamic with Micheal during their ongoing divorce.
On an episode of Watch What Happens Live, Ashley told Andy Cohen, “It’s not really about Luke, but [Michael and I] just have a hard time period with co-parenting and with separating.” Ashley later admitted to “falling in love” with Luke when she got candid about the relationship during the reunion.
But another mistake Mia thinks Ashley made was rooted in the drama in this season of the show. While Ashley was spreading rumors about castmate Candiace Dillard-Bassett’s husband, Chris Bassett, Mia thinks she should have had her eyes elsewhere.
Mia concluded, “She was so busy running around town, chasing after what Chris [Bassett] was doing to [his wife] Candiace [Dillard] or not doing or DM’ing or who not DM’ing. And I’m like, ‘Girl, you should have just been DM’ing your next thing. Like, you need to find a man clearly. You need to secure the bag,’” she added.
