The OG friendships of Summer House are falling apart at the seams. Lindsay Hubbard and Danielle Olivera are going through a friendship-ending fight on Season 7. HubbHouse is trying to celebrate getting engaged to Carl Radke. Most of Carl’s housemates are against his relationship with Lindsay. But the couple is just blocking out the haters. It has resulted in Carl becoming particularly distant from his buddy Kyle Cooke, which puts a strain on both of their personal and professional lives.
Carl and Lindsay are just doing their own thing and ignoring all of the red flags brought up by their roomies. Carl quit his job at LoverBoy and is 100% focused on Linds. It’s beneficial for his girlfriend. Lindsay doesn’t have many allies in the Hamptons this year, considering the Danielle of it all. The years-long tension between HubbHouse and Amanda Batula has gotten particularly thick, which isn’t helping the situation. Now, in a recent interview, Cookie has some choice words to say about his one-time bestie Lindsay.
Kyle is still the same at heart, whether or not he’s got a ring on his finger. He’ll always be the drunk guy talking to himself in the kitchen at 3 a.m. in his boxers. It’s his brand. He will also have the tendency to fly off the handle at a moment’s notice. His recent shade toward Lindsay seems to be a classic case of just that.
According to Us Weekly, Lindsay recently spoke about Kyle’s intro scene on The Traitors, where he referred to himself as calculated. Lindsay insinuated she’s always known that Kyle is calculated, which hit a nerve with Mr. LoverBoy. Kyle initially meant that he was smart with challenges and game strategy, not manipulative like he thought Lindsay insinuated.
In his response, Kyle slung Lindsay’s mud right back at her. “I think she’s the most calculated person I’ve ever met, so I find that hysterical,” Kyle said. Burn. He added that Linds apparently goes into filming every summer “with a game plan,” while he does not. This group really needs a healing session Real Housewives style.
Kyle went on to explain that Lindsay’s game plan for Season 7 was to make the focus all about her and Carl. He also alleged that Lindsay pulls some shady stuff when the cameras aren’t around which affects his relationship with her and everyone in the house. “A lot of people can’t quite understand the tension and they just label the other girls ‘mean girls,'” Kyle said. “I think that’s a very unfair and inaccurate nickname for people that have quite frankly been on the opposite side of the meanness.”
I wonder who Kyle could be talking about? Maybe Mrs. Cooke and co. It is gross to watch the other women in the house always look for a reason to jump on Lindsay. But Kyle is probably right in saying that there’s a lot that goes on behind closed doors that none of us fans are privy to (unfortunately).
