Dolores Catania Explains Fight With Jennifer Aydin In Real Housewives Of New Jersey Season 13 Premiere

If you’re like me, you were anxiously awaiting the return of Real Housewives of New Jersey. And it’s finally here. Season 13 premiered with a look at just how complicated these friendships have gotten since we left off at the Season 12 reunion.

One such relationship is that of Dolores Catania and Jennifer Aydin. I honestly didn’t really see the significance of their relationship to begin with, but the two ended on a sour note last season.

That sour note carried over and quickly turned into a fight by the end of the premiere episode. It caught me off guard in the sense that they were still having issues. Clearly, it caught Dolores off guard too, as she recently explained to Us Weekly.

Said Dolores of approaching Jen, “I really wasn’t looking for that. It had been so long since we were in New York [at the season 12 reunion] I thought, maybe, when I saw her at the roller skating party, that we would just at least say hello to each other, but she kept, like, running away from me.” She continued, “I didn’t expect to speak to her at the next [event], but I didn’t want them left out either, so it just wasn’t the time or place when I wanna speak to somebody about what’s going on.”

She added, “I’m not gonna speak to 50 people before I speak to you. That’s just not how I am. I don’t even respond well to that. So that’s where a lot of our miscommunication came.”

But Jen didn’t get the memo and was busy airing out her issue with Dolores to anyone who would listen at the husband’s sexy calendar photoshoot. Dolores overheard Jen saying she “wasn’t f—ing nice” when it came to last season’s revelation that husband Bill Aydin had previously cheated on her.

Jen complained, “She’s never been my friend. She’s phony, she’s f—king two-faced.” Despite the blow up, Dolores said she was able to remain calm. “When you’re in a good place like I happen to be, bringing my cute boyfriend [Paul “Paulie” Connell] in and he’s so excited and everybody’s having a good time, if there was ever a time for that to happen, it was then because when you’re really happy, you don’t really get that angry about things,” she noted.

The Paterson, New Jersey native also shared how she tunes out “when somebody doesn’t let [her] speak.” Dolores continued, “I just tunnel out. Sometimes I get aggressive or angry, but it wasn’t a time that I wanted to do that. I mean, here’s my Paul walking in and everybody’s embracing him, and I love my friends. I really do. I’ve been more upset about not getting along with Jennifer than I even want to admit to.”

Dolores went on to admit that she “felt bad” because she believes she was a “good friend” to Jen. “It’s OK to disagree about that. It’s really OK. But I thought we spoke about it and moved on from it. And then I have a problem when it’s not,” she shared.

As far as making up with Jen? Dolores would only say, “Stay tuned.”
