The dynamics around Selling Sunset’s Oppenheim Group are shifting! At the center of it all, as always, is none other than Christine Quinn.
Christine entered season 5 of Selling Sunset as a new mother. During season 4 Christine was temporarily replaced by Emma Hernan while she was out on maternity leave. The entire situation seemed contrived and fully over the top. Supposedly Christine was out on leave for only one week. Hardly enough time to justify a replacement hire. What’s more, Emma and Christine have quite the history.
Emma and Christine clashed almost immediately in season four of Selling Sunset. Their work relationship was complicated by the fact that they both used to date the same man. At the same time. What’s more is that this guy also works at the Oppenheim Group. Talk about awkward!
Christine came in to season five of the reality real estate show clearly ready to assert her dominance over the other Oppenheim women. She even brought in Chelsea Lazkani as backup. So far, though, no one from the brokerage firm seems intimidated by Christine and her antics.
According to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Davina Potratz has had enough of her co-star’s behavior. During an interview Davina spoke out and explained that Christine has “gotten worse” when compared to her behavior in previous seasons.
“Have you seen the change? I mean, yeah, you’ve gotten worse. I feel like you’ve gotten more disrespectful,” Davina said of Christine. Davina added that Mary Fitzgerald “called her out too and said, ‘You need to stop being disrespectful.’”
Although “no one wants to hurt Christine,” Davina explained, it’s tough because the “funny, sweet and out-there” person, that she and her co-workers all love her for, is “almost gone.” Ouch.
“She’s just so hurtful to everybody that, what choice do I have? I mean, I’m just not going to be disrespected anymore, and I’ve done everything I possibly can for you and it’s not appreciated. And so good luck. I don’t know,” Davina continued. She added, “I feel like [Christine is] projecting how she feels inside onto me because she’s mad I’m not hated.”
Davina argued that she would not “bend over backwards” to be friends with people. She added that she isn’t worried about the things Christine is saying on and off the show.
“We want to give her chances and we care about her, but she makes it increasingly difficult,” Davina explained. She noted that the Oppenheim Group reputation is also on the line.
Season 5 of Selling Sunset is set to be the first with a cast reunion! Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Christine made it to the event. Any guesses what that means for her future on the cast or as a part of the brokerage firm?
