Leah McSweeney Real Housewives Of New York

Leah McSweeney Recently Had COVID-19

I feel like there have been two ever-present questions in my mind over the past two years or so. One, when is this freakin’ pandemic going to be over and done with? Secondly, what the hell is going on with the Real Housewives of New York? One is obviously more serious than the other, but both are in the front of my mind, nonetheless. If everything I read on Instagram is to be believed, the show is on a permanent hiatus and won’t return a day before 2023. And it won’t be without a major casting shakeup.

It also looks like Ramona Singer might be saying goodbye to her long-time RHONY gig, after racism accusations and general bad behavior has put her on the chopping block. What the show needs is a trip to the Berkshires, a few high-energy newbies, and a couple of OGs thrown back in to the mix for a guaranteed good time. If that can’t fix RHONY, it might very well be doomed for good.

Leah McSweeney is one RHONY star that has really ruffled some feathers during her sophomore season. Her only fan left these days seems to be Rihanna, so she has that going for her. I’ve been a bit confused by the Leah hate. I don’t love her, but she’s not that bad and I like watching her friendship with Tinsley Mortimer in the beginning. It didn’t go so well with Eboni K. Williams during round two, but who knows if Leah will get another shot.

Leah recently revealed that after a pair of tough years in her personal life, she also recently suffered from COVID-19. Miss Rona is everywhere these days, and it just absolutely sucks. There’s not much else to say, it’s just a major bummer. Leah revealed her diagnosis in a post to commemorate her ex Rob Cristofaro’s birthday. It’s a bit unexpected, but she explained that her positive COVID-19 test threw a wrench in the co-parents’ vacation plans. “Sometimes I want to choke you (like this past week) but most of the time I’m just super grateful for you,” Leah wrote. “Sorry I ruined our Jamaican Christmas by catching the rona. There is always next year!!” What a bummer.

In a post for the holidays a few days later, Leah then revealed to her Instagram followers that she tested negative for COVID-19, allowing her to spend Christmas with her family. She says she was worried she would end up being “the person testing positive for 3 months,” but that hasn’t been the case. It’s good to hear she made a recovery after catching the virus, and she appears pretty grateful as well. “Thanks to everyone who checked on me and let me torture them with FaceTimes, whining, bitching, and complaining,” Leah wrote.

Leah added a note to “anyone with covid or quarantined, depressed or just feeling down cus the Holidays are a weird ass time” to let them know they aren’t alone in the feelings. It is a weird and sad time for everyone with the global mess going on. At least we have outlets like reality TV Instagram pages or FaceTimes with friends and family to help us get by.
