Heather Dubrow Says Real Housewives Of Orange County Was “Blue-Collar” Before She Joined; Tamra Judge Says That Heather “Brought Class And Elegance Back To The Franchise”

Season 16 of Real Housewives of Orange County is a re-do for the series. Last season was dull and dismal. There was a desperately needed cast shake-up, and Braunwyn Windham-Burke, Elizabeth Lyn Vargas, and Kelly Dodd were handed their walking papers.

This paved the way for Heather Dubrow to return to RHOC. That’s right- Fancy Pants will be showing off her $21 million dollar home while popping the champs. And that could never happen while Kelly was on the show.

In January of 2020, Tamra Judge and the “OG of the OC” Vicki Gunvalson left the show because they were only offered part-time contracts. Tamra hinted that she might be returning to film Season 16 with Heather.

According to Page Six, Heather discussed how she brought class to RHOC in the Housewives tell-all book, Not All Diamonds and Rosé: The Inside Story of the Real Housewives from the People Who Lived It by Dave Quinn. “From what people have told me of the seasons before I joined, was that it was always perceived wealth, not necessarily actual wealth. It always felt a little more blue-collar,” Heather stated. She said that RHOC was “down-to-earth.” Heather added, “Certainly lower than RHOBH.” Oof.

Heather also noted that when she joined RHOC during Season 7, her co-stars upped their fashion game. The actress explained, “They were all wearing those sky tops and all of a sudden, after I came around, the Chanel and Gucci started popping up.”

Tamra agreed that Heather added some refinement to the franchise. “She had the best homes, the best parties, the best trip ideas. Her husband [Terry Dubrow] was a character,” Tamra said in the book. Heather also had the best cakes- just don’t eat the bow or Heather will go ballistic.

“We connected quickly. I liked her, and Vicki [Gunvalson] liked Heather, too,” Tamra commented. “She always used to say she felt like Heather brought class and elegance back to the franchise.”

Executive producer Chris Cullen also weighed in on Heather’s time on RHOC. He said that Heather liked “being above everyone in Season 7 and Season 8.” Chris stated in the book that when Shannon Beador arrived on the scene, Heather was miffed.

Chris explained, “Shannon lived in a gated community, Shannon had a big house, and all of a sudden, it was an even playing field. I don’t think Heather liked that,” Chris remarked. “Heather’s insecurities got the best of her and she did not want to make Shannon welcome on that show and was going to make it as difficult as possible.” Wow.

Heather slammed Chris’ comments. She called them a “crock of s–t” and that she “wasn’t jealous at all.” I love Heather, but I think the lady doth protest too much. Hopefully RHOC will deliver the “classy” blockbuster season that fans deserve.
