We’re only a few episodes into the second season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and things are already bonkers. Ice castles, mannequins, fraud — this show is truly one of a kind. But, right now, the caterer-gate storyline has us totally captivated. Fighting over the catering arrangements for a charity event is the exact type of upscale, low-stakes drama that makes these shows so addicting.
After the big face-off between Lisa Barlow and Angie Harrington, the ladies took to social media to clear up some of the confusion surrounding the drama. Even the caterers came forward to give their side of the story. Slowly but surely, it’s all starting to make more sense. However, Lisa recently sat down for an interview with Entertainment Tonight, and it sounds like there’s even more to this situation than what we originally knew. When asked about Angie’s explosive entrance onto the show, Lisa revealed some behind-the-scenes tea that helps explain the volatility between them.
“I had recommended more than just her for the show, [and] I think her feelings were hurt and it was a retaliatory move,” Lisa revealed.
Lisa should basically be a casting agent at this point because she’s the one person tying all of these ladies together. Remember, Lisa is also responsible for introducing Jennie Nguyen to the group this season.
Of course, Jennie ended up as the full-time snowflake holder while Angie was relegated to just being a friend of the show. It would make sense that there would be some high emotions when you’re trying to hop onto such a big platform. And Lisa claims that this topic actually came up during the infamous scene at Angie’s party when she and her husband tried to confront Lisa about the caterer theory.

“One of the biggest issues, too, is he was like, ‘You brought Jennie onto the show, and you’re giving her more attention,’ because I had posted a picture with Jennie the week prior,” Lisa recalled. “I was just trying to be inclusive and bring a lot of people onto the platform. So it was just a lot happening that day.”
Lisa’s right. A whole lot was happening at that party, but the way she completely fell apart left many fans speculating that there was more to the scene that was edited out. Lisa confirmed that suspicion, and she told ET that she was “heartbroken” over the whole situation.
Angie is expected to pop back up on our screens later this season, so it will be interesting to see if she and Lisa can rebound their on-camera friendship. Off-camera, Lisa claims that she hasn’t spoken to Angie in months. Is it too soon to start getting excited about the reunion? It’s going to be a good one.
