Kameron Westcott Tiffany Moon Real Housewives Of Dallas

Bravo Releases Statement In Support Of Tiffany Moon And The Asian Community

Dr. Tiffany Moon was a much-needed edition to the Real Housewives of Dallas cast.  The anesthesiologist brought tremendous intelligence, quirk, and emotional maturity to the show.  She is also the first Asian American housewife on RHOD, and goodness knows the cast needed some diversity, especially after the shameful departure of LeeAnne Locken last season.

The introduction of Tiffany to the show also coincided with the emergence of a social media post in which Brandi Redmond depicted an Asian stereotype.  So as Season 5 began, if anyone seemed that they were walking on the thin ice of cancel culture, it would have been Brandi.  However, she showed so much remorse and humility, that Brandi and Tiffany were able to move forward.  Brandi listened and learned, and Tiffany forgave her for her previous wrong-doing.

As the season progressed, viewers watched as Tiffany shared her culture with the other ladies.  At a dim sum brunch, Tiffany encouraged her cast mates to try chicken feet, a delicacy enjoyed throughout China.  D’Andra Simmons was game as always, but picky eater Kameron Westcott refused.

That incident started, what became, an unraveling of the facade.  Kameron repeatedly questioned the authenticity and relevance of chicken feet to Tiffany on the show, then at the reunion, had to answer for a tweet wherein she claimed to prefer eating her dog treats over the delicacy.

There was a parody video that Tiffany shared of her life going up with an Asian mother.  Kameron questioned why Tiffany had the right to make such a video and Tiffany defended her position.

But the worst situation to date involved a series of posts from Kameron’s husband Court Westcott and her brother in law Chart WestcottThey attacked Tiffany professionally and personally in a very aggressive and vile way.

In response, Bravo made their position on the matter very clear.  In an Instagram post shared on the official Bravo page, the network wrote, “Bravo strongly supports the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.  Anti-Racism is, in fact, not a form of racism and the network stands by Dr. Tiffany Moon and her advocacy against racism and violence.”

Tiffany herself responded, “thank you so much for your support.”

Costar D’Andra sent some good vibes to Tiffany, and wrote, “I love you so much!  Never stop being YOU!”
