Dorinda Medley Releasing Memoir About Making It Nice; Teases Real Housewives Of New York Return

While the coronavirus pandemic took away international travel and late-nights of clubbing for Bravolebrities, they apparently all decided it was a good idea to write a book. Shep Rose and Cameran Eubanks of Southern Charm each wrote books on subjects that couldn’t be more opposite of each other. Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Margaret Josephs is also gearing up to release a memoir, and Jackie Goldschneider says she’s working on her own. Even Lala Kent, who was part of the very real Vanderpump Rules pregnancy pact, wrote a memoir herself.

The list goes on and on, but the only person we sadly won’t be getting a book from this year is Kim Richards, even though she gets to keep a hefty advance from her publisher. And since Dorinda Medley’s firing from the Real Housewives of New York, she’s going to teach us all about making it nice in her own words.

Dorinda announced that her book, aptly titled Make It Nice, will be released on August 17, according to PeopleShe signed a book deal with Simon and Schuster just weeks before finding out she wouldn’t be returning to RHONY for Season 13.

The book will feature stories from different parts of Dorinda’s life, from living in London with her late husband to coming into her own on RHONY. The cover appropriately features her sitting in her home in the Berkshires (that I will miss so dearly), where she wrote the book during quarantine. “It was just very sort of karmic,” Dorinda said.

She shared, “I had no idea what the book was going to look like, and it really allowed me some breathing time to take my head out of where I was presently and bring myself back to how I got there. It was perfect timing to say.” So it sounds like Dorinda’s finally chilled out after her blood-raising battles with Tinsley Mortimer.

Dorinda told People that the book will go into all of the facets of her life fans didn’t get to see on the show. “The cake was fully baked by the time I got the show, you guys just got a piece of it. Now I want to give you the full cake.”

And while we know Dorinda was excited about returning to RHONY before she was fired, she says “never say never” about a future comeback. “There’s always a possibility. This is forevermore, you know, you’re a Housewife. It’s sort of like a tattoo we all get. And some of us can hide it more than others, some of us put it right out there and say it to the world. But you know what? Let’s see how this goes, let’s see what they think, and if it works, it works. If it doesn’t, I think I had a great six years, don’t you?” All these months in the Berkshires really gave us a more zen-Dorinda. Also, her quote breeds the brilliant idea that all of the RHONY ladies, past and present, should get matching tattoos. Even though we all know Dorinda and Ramona Singer aren’t the biggest fans of people tatting themselves up.

Let’s hope that Dorinda’s book finally answers some lingering fan questions. Like how did she get so into decorating for Christmas? What’s the story behind the fish room? And how do Ramona, Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps really act off-camera? Is Ramona really responsible for getting her fired? CLIP.
