For many years, there were stories about Carole Radiziwill and Andy Cohen’s close friendship. Former Real Housewives of New York star Aviva Drescher even blamed getting fired from the show on the bond between the two friends.
Even after Carole left Real Housewives of New York, Andy answered questions about staying in touch with Carole still. Well, apparently these two weren’t even friends.
During an episode of the Juicy Scoop With Heather McDonald podcast, Heather McDonald asked, “How did the show come about for you?” Carole began, “I wasn’t friends with any of them and I know now that they cast it more.” And then she spilled some tea about Andy.
Carole recalled, “Back in Season 5, I think they were firing like four of the women and Andy was looking for women to take their place and I knew him. The idea that Andy and I were like BFF’s was a manufactured idea in the press and it kind of took on a life of its own.” I would love to know what Andy thinks of these remarks, especially since he seemed to be one of the people perpetuating this idea in public.

Carole shared, “Andy and I knew each other for a long time through mutual friends. We had really good mutual friends. I never had dinner alone with Andy. To be honest, when I went to this dinner with our mutual friends and he mentioned ‘Would I do the show?’ I didn’t even know he had a show. I knew he had a talk show, but I had never seen the show.” THE SHADE!
Carole emphasized, “I didn’t watch any Housewives.” And the shade continued. Carole remarked, “I knew Andy had a talk show and I didn’t know where the women were coming from that were on the talk show all the time.”

She went on to explain her lack of awareness, telling Heather, “Listen, at that point, there weren’t that many [Real Housewives shows]. And it was only four seasons. It wasn’t as big of a deal.”
At that dinner, Andy asked Carole if she would join the show after she casually mentioned that she was actually a princess through marriage to her late husband. This surprises absolutely no one. We can all picture Andy salivating at the mere mention of the word “princess.”

Carole also claimed that Andy and members of RHONY production were afraid of Bethenny Frankel and so much was edited out of the Season 10 reunion. This would not surprise me.
