90 Day Fiance spinoff 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way successfully drew audiences in with a new premise: have the American partner move to a foreign country. Part of the appeal was watching the U.S. citizen reacting to their new culture and navigating the ways of the country.
For Deavan Clegg, it was the adjustment of living in a small space with husband Jihoon Lee and his parents. Since the show ended, Deavan often shares pictures of her life in Korea. And goodness, the food looks amazing! Unfortunately, the learning curve of living in a new country sometimes has negative consequences as well. Especially when it comes to decisions about body and health issues.
Earlier this week, Deavan posted a set of pictures of her lips before and after a procedure. Deavan got lip fillers in Korea before returning to the U.S. for Thanksgiving. She started having discomfort and pain, but was reassured it was a normal reaction.
Deavan explained the situation in an Instagram post, “I am in the states for thanksgiving my doctor in Korea kept saying it was normal but it was so painful I reached out for help.”

Deavan admits that she did not do enough research before deciding to get the procedure done. She said, “In Korea I decided to get lip fillers before doing research. The product they injected had not been tested. I went to a professional. My lip was so swollen and injected incorrectly. I had damage so severe that my lip was dying.”
It turns out that Deavan turned to plastic surgery enthusiast and fellow 90 Day Fiance cast member Larissa dos Santos Lima for help. Larissa recommended a doctor, and Deavan was able to save her lip tissue.

She posted some words of caution to other girls considering plastic surgery. “Please ladies do research it’s okay to get lip fillers and feel beautiful,” Deavan wrote, “but please do research and find a doctor who specializes in it. I searched hours on what to do and couldn’t find anything so I want to help girls who are going or went through this.”
Deavan shared her thanks to the plastic surgeon for, “saving my lip it means the world and ladies and gentlemen check her out she is absolutely amazing.”
