The consensus is kids are off limits in reality television, right? I completely adhere to this policy, as it is the fault of no child when their parents exploit choose to have them filmed for a program. In the case of Kim Zolciak-Biermann, all six of her kids have grown up on television. When she started on Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kim was the single mom of Ariana and Brielle, both very young when introduced.
After Kim met and married former man pro-athlete Kroy Biermann, the baby factory was open and ready for business. Kim’s show, Don’t Be Tardy followed the pair’s lives and procreation abilities. The couple produced KJ and Kash, along with twins, Kaia and Kane. We’re still waiting on little Koo Koo for Koko Puffs to be conceived. Along the way, Kim has received an epic amount of constructive criticism regarding her children. In the latest round of, “I’m a better Mom than you are…”, Kim is now defending applying make-up to her youngest daughter’s face. On the bright side, no needles were involved. Yet.
Over the years Kim’s daughters Ariana and Brielle have transformed themselves into replicas of their mom. Depending on your views, this may not be a good thing. Kim is not shy about her love of wigs, wine, and plastic surgery. Brielle is no stranger to extensions and lip injections, and it appears Ariana is following in her footsteps. Much like Kim, Brielle is also fond of posting scantily-clad photos, and proudly displaying the goods. But when does it get to be too much? Brielle is an adult and can do whatever she wants. Teenager Ariana is most likely not being forced into glossing up and pouting for the camera. Up next is Kim’s youngest daughter Kaia, but this one is only 5 years old.
Kimbo is now catching some comments about Kaia serving face. According to People, a photo Kim posted of Kaia on Instagram is under fire. Why? Well, it seems she has been sitting in the make-up chair. But let’s not kid ourselves, Kim probably knew exactly what she was doing. The pic was posted with the following caption, “Picture of the screen, where does the time go @kaiabiermann how are you 5 already?” It was a photo of Kaia from a television screen, doing an interview for Don’t Be Tardy.

Followers did not seem impressed with the make-up on Kaia. Some fans dragged Kim, claiming her daughter’s “grown-up” appearance was unnatural. But seriously, what is natural about Kim or her life? You can see the photo in question here. Yes, little Kaia is wearing lipstick. Her hair is brushed out. But she by no means has on a face like her mother a drag queen. Cue the shamers! One commenter wrote, “Makeup and hair extensions. Really??” Apparently Kim found that one hilarious. She responded, “hair extensions now that’s funny!” Is it? Since Kim has a wig line, the kid having hair extensions isn’t too crazy of a concept.
Another critic advised Kim that Kaia was “too young” to wear make-up and added, “She also has eyeliner on just saying shes a beauty without makeup and way too young.” But Kim wasn’t having it. She said, “no eyeliner sweetie stop reaching.” When someone else questioned Kaia’s red lipstick, Kim said everyone is entitled to do what makes them happy – whether that means wearing make-up or not. In theory this makes perfect sense. But when it comes to a five-year-old child, is it too much? Still, not my kid, not my business.

This isn’t Kim’s first time at the shaming rodeo. Last year, Kim defended herself against claims she photoshopped a pic of Kaia and Kane. Despite photo comparisons, Kim said, “People are f—– SICK!! Get the f— out here!! No post was taken down and no photo has been nor will ever be edited of my children! I will no longer stand for this bulls—!” But Kim is very familiar with the editing tool on her own pics. Allegedly.
What do you guys think? Should we bash moms who put make-up on their kids? Should we bash moms at all? Perhaps if you don’t want people to comment on your spawn, keep them out of the public eye. It’s up to a parent to protect their children from malicious comments and online bullying, not set them up for it.
