Longtime Bravo viewers might recall that Danielle Staub was the first guest on Watch What Happens Live. Ever. During that instantly infamous appearance, she sang a duet with Lori Michaels.
They performed a song called “Too Close.” Not only that, but they may or not have been in a romantic relationship at the time. That whole situation is still abundantly unclear and we will probably never get the real story. This is especially true given all of the recent Danielle drama. Why delve into the past when there’s so a constant stream of new material? Oh yeah, Danielle’s past will entertain us forever and ever. Plus, there is always new information coming out of the woodwork.
During a recent interview on Tony’s Tea Corner, singer Adam Barta discussed a failed collaboration with the Real Housewives of New Jersey OG. Adam revealed, “We began working on a song together in 2014. She wanted to do something new because her previous track [“Real Close”] was her last performance. At that point, I was just starting to blow up with my viral duets. And, were introduced to collaborate.” It sounds like a perfect pairing, but it wasn’t that simple. It rarely is with Danielle.
Adam continued, “Working with Danielle was fine, she knew what she wanted, and we had some writing sessions. I’m not gonna say [working with her] wasn’t a pleasant experience, it was just disappointing that it never happened.” Why didn’t the collaboration come to fruition?
Adam claimed, “Basically, Danielle said that the last song she did was a ‘lesbian duet’ so she didn’t want to be involved with a ‘gay song’. Not that she doesn’t like gay people, she just didn’t do a ‘gay song’.” So how did the rest of that conversation go?

After, Adam recalled, “I said, “It seems a bit ‘balsy’ of her to say that just because a gay man is writing a song that she wouldn’t want to be involved. That doesn’t mean it’s a ‘gay song’. Especially since she got mad at Joe Giudice Season 1 for using the word ‘gay’.”
Adam said, “I was like, ‘I don’t know what you want me to do about that, I’m a gay man and I can’t change that.’ That’s where it got a little sour grapes. But for anyone that would want to say she’s anti-gay, I don’t believe that.”
Where do these two stand today? Adam began, “I’ve kept in touch with her over the years.” Ultimately, he concluded, “But recently she blocked me on Twitter and Instagram.” Same here, Adam. We are also blocked on Twitter! Welcome to the club!
