Bravo Needs to Bring Back These Real Housewives

As another year approaches, it is time to reflect upon the past, and dream about the future. As a reality television fanatic fan, my thoughts turn to which Housewives need to grace our television screens once again. Are you listening, Bravo?

Each Real Housewives franchise has seasons that are amazing and others that are boring less exciting. Often, the key is having the right number of newbies and franchise favorites. But what really makes sparks fly is when a Housewife returns to a show, resuming prior relationships and interacting with newer castmates. Here is my dream team of who needs to be, and deserves to be, a Housewife again.

Gretchen Rossi

Gretchen Rossi sued

Real Housewives of Orange County needs a boost. Gretchen Rossi is just the woman to do it. She is engaged to long-time fiancé (and serial Housewife dater) Slade Smiley. They finally have a baby on the way. That alone is a compelling storyline, but I also want to watch Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge’s resulting annoyance levels spike.

Heather Dubrow

Heather Dubrow Is Not Impressed

Break out the “champs.” Let’s get Heather Dubrow back on the RHOC. I miss her air of elegance, propriety, and her well-earned nickname “Fancy Pants.” I get a kick out of her relationship with her surgeon husband Terry Dubrow. To be honest, I am most fascinated by the luxurious Dubrow Chateau. It has a champagne buzzer so that Heather can call down to the kitchen to get some of her beloved bubbly. We need to see this on TV.

Jacqueline Laurita

Jacqueline says goodbye to Vermont

Jacqueline Laurita’s friendship with Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice is completely done. With that said, there is no one who brings out more fury in Teresa –unless it is sister-in-law Melissa Gorga’s inability to control her husband, (and Teresa’s brother) Joe Gorga. I love that Jacqueline details her son’s autism diagnosis, and how it affects her family. Jacqueline isn’t afraid to go toe-to-toe with Teresa. A Jacqueline return would get the drama flowing and the tables flipping.

Camille Grammer

Camille Grammer

Camille Grammer will be a Friend of the Housewives on Season 9 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She started out as a villain in Season 1, but quickly became a fan favorite. Viewers watched her struggle with the news that then-husband Kelsey Grammer wanted a divorce. This past year she got married in Hawaii. Then her house was destroyed by the California wildfires. Will someone please give Camille back her diamond, and full-time status already?

Brandi Glanville

RHOBH-Brandi-Glanville

Brandi Glanville is out-spoken, foul-mouthed, enjoys stripper poles, and is rowdy when she drinks. She creates sparks of drama wherever she goes. I really miss that on RHOBH. But Brandi is also compassionate and caring. We saw this in her friendships with Yolanda Hadid and Kim Richards. Brandi’s hilarious commentary is truly missed, and she appears at least once in Season 9. Perhaps that is the start of a full-time Housewives return.

Heather Thomson

Why Bravo Needs to Bring Back These Housewives

Heather Thomson (Holla!) is an entrepreneur and married mother of two. Her time on Real Housewives of New York showcased both her business savvy and low tolerance for over-the-top drama. Heather never backed down from a fight. She refused to invite Ramona Singer on a London trip. Not only that, but she stood up to Bethenny Frankel. Heather also talked about her son Jax’s health struggles and used the show to bring awareness to medical topics such as liver transplants.

Jill Zarin

Jill Zarin

I would welcome an RHONY return by Jill Zarin. There is no denying that Jill has a strong personality. This has led to clashes with several of the Housewives, most notably Bethenny and Ramona. Real Housewives of New York filmed outside of Jill’s beloved husband Bobby Zarin’s memorial service after his death. I think that following Jill as she embraces this new chapter in her life could be a welcome emotional journey for the show.

Phaedra Parks

Phaedra

It has been a while since Real Housewives of Atlanta has seen premium shade.  Phaedra Parks  was fired from the show because of the terrible rumor that Phaedra spread about Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, wanting to drug and sexually assault co-star Porsha Williams. Certainly not Phaedra’s finest moment. Still, Phaedra is an intriguing mix of many things –a preacher’s daughter, an expert on southern manners, thong-lover, attorney, mother, and funeral director. Yes, Phaedra has burned bridges with Kandi and Porsha. In contrast, NeNe Leakes has signaled that it is time to give Phaedra back her peach.

Kenya Moore

Kenya Moore fires back at Kim Z

It seems that Kenya Moore has finally fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a wife and first-time mother to daughter, Brooklyn. Unfortunately, viewers of RHOA missed out on watching Kenya’s pregnancy journey because she twirled off the show ahead of Season 11. Her husband, Marc Daly, apparently isn’t a fan of television cameras. If filming her marital relationship is a necessity, I am not sure how Kenya can re-claim her peach. I, for one, celebrate Kenya’s shady side, and how bold and “gone with the wind fabulous” she is.
