Usually it’s more than welcomed when a reality TV couple has a lot of drama. In some rare instances it can just go too far for the viewers to stomach. Case in point: Thomas Ravenel and Ashley Jacobs.
The only positive thing that has come out of their relationship is the cast and fans uniting to support Kathryn Dennis. Other than that, it’s just cringe-worthy and that is putting it mildly. These two are just projecting major toxicity through the TV screens. There isn’t even anyone to root for in the actual relationship- but the viewers and cast members on this show would not be upset if these two broke up.
Podcast host Kate Casey discussed a recent interview with Ashley on her podcast Reality Life With Kate Casey. According to People, Kate said, “She’s told me that she broke up with him and that she blocked his number, but she’s in this weird position because she changed her licensing or she got licensing to be a nurse in South Carolina and really had come to the conclusion that she was going to set up a new life, away from Santa Barbara, in another state across the country.”
But why did they break up? Sure there are so many reasons to choose from, but why did they break up? If they actually broke up…

Kate also said, “She of course did this hoping that she would ultimately be in a loving relationship with someone who has had two children with a woman he never ended up marrying, has served time in prison, and has all these allegations against him. She wasn’t really able to see how that made absolutely no sense. So my strategy was to say things like, ‘Kathryn is not your enemy. Why would you want to be with somebody who has all this chaos in their life?’” Thank you, Kate. Hopefully she was able to get through to Ashley….
Kate shared, “I think it actually started to work.” She revealed, “She’s told me that they’ve broken up, and that she has no intention of getting back together with him and I hope that’s true.” People noted that both Bravo and Ashley replied to a request for comments.
However, Ashley did respond to someone on Instagram who asked if she and Thomas broke up. According to People, she told the Instagram user, “Sorry for any confusion. I don’t plan on addressing rumors or talking about my relationship status to social media at this time.” Then why even bother responding to that comment at all? Is this just a stunt for attention?
If anything could be interpreted as a thirst for attention it’s Ashley’s Instagram post where she wrote, “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations #TrustGod.” Is this about her relationship with Thomas? Is she just trying to drum up conversation (which worked, by the way)? Does she just want to be cast for Southern Charm Season 6? What is actually going on?
