I don’t know about y’all, but the Countess has taught me everything I know about social graces. No, money really can’t buy you class. If she hadn’t shared that kernel of wisdom, I certainly wouldn’t have learned it from the bevy of reality stars that clog up my Bravo programming. Also, don’t be all uncool. Who wants to be uncool in the eyes of Luann de Lesseps D’Agostino? Not this girl, that’s for sure!
As you know, the Real Housewives of New York star tied the knot to her controversial beau Tom D’Agostino on the latest episode, proving, yet again, that money doesn’t buy class, but it can cause a middle aged woman to turn a blind eye to said new husband’s blatant shenanigans by going through with a very elegant wedding ceremony. And, might I add, what we know about elegance is thanks to Luann. It’s learned, my friend. Now, I’m going to pour out some of my Ramona Singer pinot for the Countess, as she is no longer, but what a great ride it was.
The former Countess recounts (see what I did there?) her glorious nuptials in her weekly Bravo blog.
Luann opines, “You never know when or where you’ll find love. In this episode, Tom and I tied the knot in Palm Beach surrounded by our family and friends. Our wedding was magical and being married to Tom is like finding home again. When he wakes up, he reaches for me. When he plays, we play together! Tom makes me feel loved and whole, and I’m so grateful we found each other. Our day went off without a hitch, and even though Dorinda [Medley] was a bit late to the pre-wedding glam session, it was no big deal.”
Why do I feel like she’s trying to convince herself as much as she’s trying to convince us?

Luann continues, “Having our best friends surround us as we committed our lives to each other was an incredible experience. Getting married on New Year’s Eve, which is also Tom’s birthday, was the perfect decision. Our party was divided into three parts: the traditional wedding dinner, then Tom’s birthday celebration, and ended with us ringing in the new year with a mariachi band and tequila toasts! The next day, we had a beautiful brunch with everyone before leaving on our honeymoon.”
Drawing parallels to her co-stars’ love lives, Luann explains, “Home can be where you live, or it can be in your heart. Sonja [Morgan] has opened her home and her heart to her ‘Frenchie,’ Edgar, proving that love comes when we least expect it. Tinsley [Mortimer] is enjoying her young Chad, and Ramona brought a new ‘friend’ to our post-wedding party.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be the Lu we’ve all come to love if she didn’t throw a tad bit of shade to those she finds a bit, um, uncool. She shares, “In our home, Tom and I cook for each other. He loves what I make, especially my pasta and lemon chicken. It’s probably not as good as his mother’s, but I give it my best shot. He’s actually seen me in the kitchen…cooking! I thought Carole [Radziwill]’s comment was rude as I’ve hosted her in my home and cooked for her. I don’t take these comments seriously from someone who lives on Twinkies and chocolate-covered donuts.” Ouch?
Imparting more life goals, Luann concludes, “When the wedding parties end, the real fun begins, and we are having the time of our lives together. I am home. Until next week, let love happen!” Let love happen? Dollars to donuts (Carole’s chocolate-covered ones, of course), this is going to be the title of Luann’s next single!
