Kate Gosselin Talks Dating & Her Ideal Man! Opens Up On Civil Relationship With Jon

Kate Gosselin is looking for love and is passive aggressively finally getting along with ex-husband Jon Gosselin for the sake of the couple’s eight children. She opens up about her new arrangement with Jon and her checklist for a potential mate in a series of recent interviews. So, Kate’s on a media blitz again…did I miss a new book she’s promoting?

On Monday, Kate, who is pictured above yesterday leaving the Today Show in New York City, appeared on Access Hollywood, bantering awkwardly with Billy Bush. When asked about any current relationships, Kate reveals that she has a hard time letting her guard down and her suitors are few and far between. Schmoozing Billy, she responds, “It’s like I’m promoting a dating show, [but] I’m not,” and she asks his co-host, “Do you have any single friends?”

Billy Bush compares Kate to Angelina Jolie in regards to a mother with mutliple children trying to find lasting love. I think Kate’s head may explode. Kate admits she’d like an older man, someone in his forties, driven, smart, and hot. Billy believes Kate would have better luck if she’d “start making out a little.” Sorry, Jon…it doesn’t look like a reconciliation is in store for you.

And speaking of Jon, Kate hasn’t been silent on him either. In the same interview, Kate touches on Jon’s recent endeavors, as well as his time with the kids. She takes a subtle shot at Jon points out, “He is actually making an effort for the four days a month he has [the] kids. I do wish he would see them more, but that is what he has chosen. The kids would like to see him more. So at least it’s consistent. Anytime he wants them more he can have them more and he knows that.” Wow, that sounds a tad harsh, but also it sounds as if maybe Jon should see those children more.

Kate however sang a different tune to People, stating, “The kids enjoy spending time with [Jon]. They wish he would see them more, but as long as they come home happy – and more or less they do – I’m okay with that, so that’s good.” Still a tad biting, but a little better, nonetheless. She continues saying, “It’s just naturally gotten more peaceful, which is good,” while citing the couple’s very different parenting styles.

The mother of eight returns to her dating criteria, reiterating, “I want somebody who is older…I can’t be bothered with these little boys.” Ouch. However, she does concede that dating isn’t her be-all-end-all goal. “I’m at the point where I’m like, ‘Okay, there’s got to be somebody out there who would work. If it’s meant to be, it’ll be. And if not, then whatever. I’m happy as I am.” It’s a good attitude to have…let’s just hope Kate means it, and that she and Jon continue (start?) to make those children a priority. Regardless, I’m betting they both hope you tune in to the new season of Kate Plus Eight, this coming Monday at 10 ET on TLC.
