It has been a busy couple of weeks in the life of former Jersey Shore star Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino. First he had to turn himself in to authorities after being indicted on millions of dollars of tax fraud. Then he had to appear in court on an unrelated charge of bouncing a check to an employee at his tanning salon.

But in his last court appearance of the week, was when Mike made a revelation that surprised even us. In order to get his tax fraud case postponed, Mike revealed that not only is he engaged, but he is also getting ready to film the new season of Marriage Boot Camp.

Yep! You read that right. Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino is off the market. And his newly engaged status has helped him land another reality TV deal.

Mike’s lawyers appeared in court this week and asked for his tax fraud case to be postponed because he and his fiancee, Lauren Pesce,  had already signed a contract to tape Marriage Boot Camp in L.A. from Oct. 5th to Oct. 19th.

Remarkably the judge agreed to postpone the tax fraud arraignment. He probably looks at it as a win-win. If Mike makes money, he has has a better shot at repaying Uncle Sam what he owes.

The postponement was actually Mike’s second legal victory of the week. Earlier a judge threw out the case about the bounced checks to employees. Actually showing up to court was really just a formality because Mike had already made good on all the paychecks.

Perhaps things are starting to look up for Mike. Just kidding! He has to go film Marriage Boot Camp with the likes of Aviva Drescher — good luck buddy!

ETA: Mike isn’t on the new list of couples for Marriage Boot Camp so it’s possible TMZ got the show name wrong or he’s been dropped…
