Oh my goodness! Juan Pablo Galavis, who tried to win Desiree Hartsock's heart on the Bachelorette, is the next Bachelor. Way to go, ABC!
Chris Harrison made the announcement on Monday night's After the Final Rose special. The audience went cray cray for Juan Pablo! Chris said, "No guy has made a greater impact with less screen time," later adding, "We may need Dodgers stadium for the first episode."
Indeed! Juan Pablo, a 32-year-old former professional soccer player from Venezuela, is charming, sexy, and funny. He lives in Miami with his four-year-old daughter, Camila, and looks forward to his reign as Bachelor. Me too!

ABC officially reports on the Bachelor website:
"With his Spanish accent, good looks, salsa moves and undying devotion for his daughter, Juan Pablo, 32, was a fan favorite. Sadly, Desiree Hartsock couldn’t see a future with Juan Pablo and sent him home from Barcelona."
"Although Juan Pablo was blindsided by not getting a rose, the experience of being on The Bachelorette opened his eyes to the possibility of finding a real, everlasting love. He witnessed firsthand how it worked with Desiree and has decided that he can’t give up on love and on giving his daughter, Camila, what she wants more than anything in the world – a brother and a sister to complete their family."
"Juan Pablo is ready and hopeful that he will find love and the missing puzzle piece to fulfill his family, here on The Bachelor.”
I don't know about you guys, but I am beyond relieved that the next Bachelor is not Jef Holm or Brooks Forester! I truly think ABC has made the best (ever) choice for Bachelor season 18. (18? OMG! I feel OLD!)
In other news, Desiree and her second choice chosen one, Chris Siegfried, became engaged on the season finale of the Bachelorette. I'm happy for her – but happier that Juan Pablo is ours to enjoy for a while.
