The news of Real Housewives of London is still settling in for many Bravo fans. Now that viewers have been given the hard launch, many of them want to know who will be rounding out the cast. There are so many good names in the mix, but one seems to stand out at the top. Everyone knows model Cara Delevingne, but what about her sister Poppy Delevingne?
Poppy Delevingne has noble ties
Poppy and her two sisters grew up in Belgravia, London. The neighborhood is one of the most expensive in London. Where Poppy lives is just east of the Harvey Nichols department store and Knightsbridge Underground station. It also boasts some of the most expensive properties in the world, which would be perfect for the Real Housewives of London. Poppy’s mother, Pandora Delevingne, was a personal shopper, and her father, Charles Delevingne, was a property developer. Poppy was born in 1986. Her little sister Cara, who was born in 1999, always looked up to Poppy. The actress once shared with the Sydney Morning Herald, “I saw my sisters as the epitome of the woman I wanted to be. There is no doubt in my mind that my sisters would be my best friends even if we weren’t related.”
Some of Poppy’s childhood was difficult as her mother struggled with addiction and bipolar disorder. The Delevingne family has ties to royalty, though. In fact, Poppy’s maternal grandmother, Jane Sheffield, was a lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret (the Queen’s sister). Poppy’s grandmother married Sir Jocelyn Stevens, who once owned Harper’s Bazaar and Queen magazine. Charles is the grandson of politician Hamar Greenwood, 1st Viscount Greenwood. There is no doubt Poppy, and her sisters, grew up privileged. Currently, she is married to James Cook and has two children.
Poppy Delevingne is a twin
Well, not really. But some people do have Irish twins. The term Irish twins dates back to the 1800s and refers to siblings born within 12 months of each other. The term came to be a way of mocking Irish Catholic immigrant families who didn’t have access to birth control. Poppy and her sister, Chloe Delevingne, have just an 11-month age gap. The possible newest housewife once shared, “My elder sister, Chloe, has always felt more like a twin. We’d have epic fallouts, then epic make-ups when we were teenagers.”
Poppy is extremely close with her sister. Poppy once told the outlet that Cara would often be left out. She noted, “We’d get Cara involved, but I didn’t spend much time with her growing up because of the age gap. You don’t have in-depth conversations with a 6-year-old when you’re 14.” Now that they are older, the sisters have a strong bond and have even launched a prosecco business together.
What does Poppy Delevingne do for work?
Poppy is also a model. While she might not be as successful as her sister, she has made a name for herself. In 2004, she starred on Maroon 5’s Sunday Morning as a teenage karaoke singer. At 15, she was signed by Storm Management. Poppy once noted, “Modeling was a scary world. I didn’t get jobs for ages. I remember my dad saying, ‘Persevere, darling — it will happen.’” She kept at it, and soon, she walked runways for Laura Ashley and Burberry. Real Housewives of London fans might recognize her as the face of Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton. Thankfully, she and Cara have always shown one another support. Poppy stated, “It has never been competitive between us. I think the six-year age gap saved us, as we’ve never been pitted against each other.” However, Poppy might need to get used to competition if other housewives are announced.
Poppy helps run the family’s vegan prosecco brand, Delle Vite, as a side hustle. The sisters launched the drink in 2020. Poppy, like most Real Housewives, enjoys a good glass of wine. The three sisters once told Wine Enthusiast that Della Vite represented “a trait from each of them: Chloe’s dry sense of humor, Poppy’s bubbly personality and Cara’s no rules, no rigor character.” Fingers crossed, we get to see Poppy pop a bottle when she is officially cast on the Real Housewives of London.
