Kristen Doute Gives Pregnancy Update: ‘We Know the Gender…’

Kristen Doute is positively over the moon about her pregnancy.

On November 26, she and her fiancé, Luke Broderick, announced that they had a baby on the way. And they already know the gender! Initially, they couple only shared that information with Kristen’s bestie, Brittany Cartwright, but that will change soon.

“We have to refer to it as it … we know the gender, OK guys? We know,” Kristen teased on her and Luke’s podcast, Balancing Act.

Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick look forward to parenthood

Even though it’s hard to keep such a big secret, The Valley stars are holding this info to themselves for a minute. “We know now, but we are keeping that to ourselves just for a teeny bit longer,” Kristen said. “But you’ll know by next week. We just wanted to keep something close to the chest.”

For his part, Luke shared some of the things he’s looking forward to about being a dad. “I’m just excited,” he said. “I’m excited for all the big days, for you to give birth, I’m excited for the first words, first steps, etc. You know, everything. I know you’re excited for all the clothes, the different shoes. I also have one thing — I want to build a crib.”

Even though they got engaged in September, Luke and Kristen have been open about wanting a baby before they get married. They announced over a year ago that they were trying to get pregnant. Kristen’s 41 and her biological clock is starting to sound like Big Ben.

Once Kristen announced her pregnancy to her family and friends, she learned something about parenthood: Nobody knows what they’re doing when they first become parents.

“All of my friends who are parents have told me that as of late,” the Vanderpump Rules alum admitted on her podcast. “Like Scheana [Shay], Brittany, all the girls have said it’s okay to just be like, ‘I have no idea what the hell I’m doing,’ because you’re not gonna know what the hell you’re doing until you start doing it. And then it’s going to be fun.'”

Kristen’s journey to conceive their baby

Since experiencing a pregnancy loss in 2023, the James Mae founder has been open about using intrauterine insemination (IUI) to conceive.

After sharing about her visit to a fertility specialist in September, Kristen spoke in more detail on her podcast. She also elaborated about her experience with hormone injections leading up to the insemination.

“It was pretty freaking miserable because it’s just really hard on your brain and your body,” she explained. “You’re like, ‘Ah, I’m not used to all of this stuff, and [it’s] just making me feel a little crazier than normal.'”

“I went to Vegas the next day, which was really weird,” she added. “But I treated my body like I was pregnant. I just faked that I was raging and partying. That was just the beginning of everything. I was really, really excited, but I was also super nervous.”

“Our due date is in June, and we are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents,” she said when announcing her pregnancy. I’m sure she’ll get lots of support from her other mommy friends in The Valley.

The Valley is now streaming on Peacock.
