Kenya Moore Takes ‘Full Accountability’ for RHOA Scandal That Saw Her Exit the Show

The chickens are coming home to roost. After previously denying the allegations of misconduct against her, Kenya Moore is admitting the error of her ways.

In June, news broke that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star would not be returning to the show after an incident during filming. The incident in question was Kenya allegedly sharing sexually explicit photos of newbie Brittany Eady during an event.

Now Kenya is speaking out and finally fessing up.

Kenya Moore says, “I didn’t have to take it that far”

During an appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, Kenya said how “sorry” she was for the incident. PEOPLE has the additional details.

“Hindsight is always fifty, fifty,” she stated. “If I could do it all over again, I believe the photos were very distasteful, and I elevated the situation. I’ve elevated situations before, and I’ve taken full accountability for the things that I’ve done.”

Kenya explained, “I didn’t have to take it that far. But when I felt threatened, I’ve never had a child in a situation like this before. So, that’s why it escalated to the point where I was protecting not only myself but my child.”

After the scandal broke, Kenya took to social media to declare her innocence. She wrote in an Instagram Story, “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see. The truth always comes to light.”

Although Kenya is not involved in the filming of RHOA, she confirmed that she is “still under contract” and is “an employee of the network.”

As for a future return to the show, the 53-year-old said she “had some conversations” and called Andy Cohen a “great support system.”

“He has called, he has checked on me, he has given me advice. And I feel like he’s a really good friend and I just appreciate the support,” Kenya revealed. “That was my family for 12 years. I love them and I feel like they love me, it was just a really unfortunate situation.”
