Captain Sandy Yawn Shares What Happens to Below Deck Production When She Gets Frustrated

Captain Sandy Yawn is a powerhouse leader on Below Deck Mediterranean. Her skill levels are crazy high, and her patience with her crews is (mostly) saint-like. But what happens when Captain Sandy needs a hot minute to herself on deck? It must be hard, dodging camera crews while frustrated and exhausted, but Captain Sandy has an easy fix to her leave-me-be woes at sea, which I will share with you all now.

A handful of Bravo’s finest reality television stars just traveled across the pond to attend the first-ever Hayu FanFest festival. Eight reality television stars were present, including Captain Sandy. When she got the mic, she spilled all sorts of fantastic secrets of the sea with the audience.

At first, Captain Sandy asked, “Can I tell you a little secret?” Naturally, the answer was a yes. The host seemed eager to hear what the only female captain on Bravo had to say.

“So, sometimes, I get upset with production,” Captain Sandy admitted. So what does she do? She turns sassy, using iconic, passive-aggressive maneuvers with her yacht.

“I’ll take that boat, and I’ll stuff it into [the] waves. I’ll make sure that boat goes like this [makes wave motions],” Captain Sandy joked as the audience cackled. But she was far from finished.

“And then I’ll call all those crew that they hired up on the bridge, and I’ll say, ‘Hey. Do you guys know where the life rafts are?'” At this, the host quipped, “Oh my God. You’re evil, and I love it.”

If I were a production team member, you would find me in that life raft, not taking any chances with my frustrated employee.

When asked how many people are onboard at any given time, Captain Sandy gave a number that blew my mind. “We have about 28 to 33 on board, with production,” she answered. Yikes.

I have never been more thankful for my solitary-styled job. My hat goes off to you, yachties of Below Deck. Thank you for your service.

Below Deck Mediterranean is streaming on Peacock.
