Episode 2 of Survivor 47 aired tonight on CBS. The castaways created new alliances, found hidden Immunity Idols, and one player’s game came to an end at Tribal Council. The 90-minute episode kept us on our toes. The losing tribe’s intended target shifted so much that viewers were unsure who would be booted off the Island until Jeff Probst read the votes.

If you missed tonight’s episode, we have you covered.

Here is what happened on the Wednesday, September 25 episode of Survivor 47 …

Teeny caught red-handed on Survivor

Episode two began with castaway Rome Cooney continuing the steps to unlock a Beware Advantage. He found the clue to the Idol in Episode 1, and congratulated himself on how well he was playing the game. His confidence in his strategic ability may have been premature. At the start of tonight’s episode, we learned that Rome was public enemy number 1 among the Lavo tribe. His tribemates were already strategizing on how to vote him off.

His chance to stay in the game improved once he was in possession of the key, which unlocked the Beware Advantage. He confided in his ally Teeny Chirichillo, whom he trusted to keep the information confidential. Unfortunately for him, Teeny had no intention of keeping his secret. She ran to Kishan Patel and filled him in on Rome’s advantage. Teeny took Kishan to Rome’s secret hiding spot to get a better look at the advantage. The pair’s secret mission came to a halt when Rome saw them going through the box. Teeny tried to save herself by vowing that she only told Kishan because she wanted them to all work together. Rome wasn’t buying it. He stated in a confessional that he lost trust in Teeny.

The three castaways read the Beware Advantage together. The Idol was only good for one Tribal Council unless Rome wanted to complete an additional step that would increase the Idol’s viability. He decided to play it safe and not complete the extra step. Rome’s Idol means Lavo will not be able to eliminate him in their first Tribal Council. They’ll have to find a new scapegoat.

I was thrilled to see Rome find the Beware Advantage. It is too early for me to pick favorites but I always enjoy when the person on the bottom of a tribe finds a lifeline. It makes the game more dynamic and challenging.

While Lavo was searching for Idols, members of the Tuku tribe were strategizing. In Episode 1, Kyle Ostwald and TK Foster formed a three-person alliance with Gabe Ortis. However, Kyle and TK got spooked by Gabe’s aggressive gameplay style and decided to shift their loyalties. Instead, they decided to work with Tiyana Hallums, weakening Gabe’s position in the game. Although, he is still close with Sue Smey and Caroline Vidmar.

Over at Gata camp, the castaways were still recovering from Tribal Council. Last episode, they said goodbye to Jon Lovett, choosing to save the unpredictable Andy Rueda over the podcast host. Andy still appears to be at the bottom of the tribe. His tribe members think he’s odd and unpredictable. While they are grateful to have an athletic player on their team, they don’t seem to value him beyond that. Andy had a chance to protect himself in the game when he stumbled upon a Beware Advantage but he (stupidly) put it back. He wasn’t willing to take the risk.

Andy’s decision to leave the Beware Advantage was incredibly naive because you should always take an advantage. Anika Dhar and Sam Phalen found it not much later and decided to open it. Sam took the advantage, granting him safety for one Tribal Council.

Who went home on Survivor Episode 2?

Gata and Lavo earned immunity during the challenge, which means Tuku had to endure Tribal Council. TK was a jerk about losing and called out for Tiyana for smiling, which annoyed her and her tribemates. Sue and Caroline already didn’t like TK, so they used that moment to plant a target on TK’s back. Going into Tribal Council, TK and Sue were in danger of going home. It was unclear where the votes would lie. Gabe played an Immunity Idol at Tribal, which didn’t affect the vote because there were no votes cast against him. In the end, TK received more votes than Sue. Note to future Survivor players, being an alpha male rarely gets you far in this game.
