Bravo has had a great year so far. In 2024, the network smashed records, inspired countless viral memes, and produced great reality television. It feels as though Bravo is in its golden era with several of its shows reaching new heights this year. It’s safe to say the network is on the up and up, and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
As we enter the final quarter of 2024, let’s revisit some of the network’s highlights from 2024.
Here are all the reasons 2024 has been a great year for Bravo …
The crazy Real Housewives of Salt Lake City finale
The year kicked off with one of the greatest Real Housewives finales ever. The Season 4 Real Housewives of Salt Lake City finale aired on January 2 and set the tone for 2024. The episode was explosive. At the end of the Bermuda trip, Heather Gay revealed that newbie Monica Garcia was the mastermind behind the Bravo gossip account Reality Von Tease. The account was responsible for leaking personal information about the women’s personal lives, so naturally, they weren’t too pleased to discover there was “a traitor” among them. Heather and the OG RHOSLC ladies confronted Monica and things got messy. Monica initially tried to deny the accusation, which promoted Heather’s iconic line: “Receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots, f*cking everything!” In addition to the Monica drama, viewers also finally got the truth about Heather’s infamous black eye from Season 3. In the finale, she revealed her former castmate, Jen Shah, was responsible for the shiner. Allegedly…
The episode shattered records. Two million people tuned in to watch the jaw-dropping finale, according to NBCUniversal. The finale was the most-watched episode since the Season 1 premiere.
Vanderpump Rules Season 11 – the aftermath of Scandoval
Scandoval offered a lifeline to Vanderpump Rules, which prior to the scandal, was losing some of its original spark. Season 10 was a huge hit for the network, bringing in record-breaking ratings for the long-running Bravo show. There was so much hype surrounding the series that many fans worried Season 11 wouldn’t be able to live up to the hype. Thankfully, the new season delivered. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Season 11 premiere drew in 3.2 million viewers for Bravo, “a 68 percent jump over the Season 10 opener.”
It turns out, watching the aftermath of the scandal was as intriguing as the scandal itself. While nothing could beat Season 10, there were still a lot of dramatic moments last season. The season finale where Tom Sandoval ambushed Ariana Madix in San Francisco was especially interesting.
The VPR spinoff The Valley also found success on the network. According to Deadline, the premiere episode brought in 2.8 million viewers, nearly half the viewership was in the 18-49 demo, which is the sweet spot for advertisers.
Summer House Season 8 – Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard’s breakup
Summer House also broke records this year. Season 8 pulled in more viewers than any previous season. According to Deadline, Season 8 averaged around 1.6 million per episode, “a 15% increase versus last season.”
It’s no surprise that Season 8 saw an increase in viewership. It was a great season, mostly due to the drama between Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard. The couple announced their split ahead of the season, so fans knew it was coming, but it didn’t make the drama any less compelling. Lucky for us, Lindsay and Carl weren’t the only cast members who put in the work last season. Every cast member had an interesting storyline in Season 8, which is rare. No one felt like they were floating through the season. Everyone felt like a main character.
Real Housewives of New Jersey finale – is it done as we know it?
The Season 14 finale of Real Housewives of New Jersey was epic. The ladies gathered at Rails Steakhouse in Towaco, New Jersey to air out their issues, and boy, it did not disappoint. There was screaming, name-calling, and Margaret Josephs revealed that Jackie Goldschneider wasn’t a loyal friend to Teresa Giudice. It was so over-the-top that is felt like a soap opera. That frame of Dolores Catania sitting alone at the table lives rent-free in my brain.
