Vicki Gunvalson has never been a wordsmith. More often than not, she finds a way to stick her foot in her mouth as she tries to share her mostly unwanted opinions. Vicki has been known to come across as quite harsh when it comes to matters of the heart for others. But the worst trait is she usually doesn’t care that she has overstepped a boundary. Vicki doesn’t just reserve her unkind words for foes like Tamra Judge. The Real Housewives of Orange County star is more than happy to spread her ideas to anyone who she thinks is listening. But more often than not, she gets herself into trouble.
Why is Tamra Judge on the outs with Sidney Barney?
Tamra’s divorce from Simon Barney was long and drawn out. The couple could hardly agree on anything, and the process really affected their family. The couple had three children: Sidney, Sophia, and Spencer. While Spencer and Sophia have made appearances on the Real Housewives of Orange County, Sidney has always remained in the shadows. Bravo fans aren’t privy to exactly what happened between the mother and daughter, but in 2015, Tamra opened up during the Season 10 reunion. She shared that she and her daughter hadn’t spoken in over two years due to her split from Simon. The eldest daughter of Simon and Tamra has never really spoken out.
But in 2017, she bashed Tamra in a now-deleted Facebook post. The 24-year-old called her mother “neglectful” and “mentally and emotionally abusive.” However, Sidney revealed that she extended an olive branch of peace due to her dad’s request for her high school graduation. The only stipulation was that Tamra would not advertise the visit. However, Tammy Sue shared photos of Sidney’s big day, trashing the very little trust between them. In 2023, Tamra gave an update on Watch What Happens Live, saying, “I actually saw her at Sophia’s graduation, and things were nice.”

Recently, Vicki spoke out on My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast, and not many listeners liked what she had to say. The OG came in hot as she attacked Tamra’s parenting style. Vicki said, “If my daughter didn’t talk to me, I’d be on a flipping plane right now, knocking on her door, begging her for forgiveness, and I don’t even care what I did.” The 62-year-old went on to say, “Sidney has a very strong opinion of Tamra. ‘Stop embarrassing the family. Stop doing what you’re doing. Get off the show when you have a chance.’ Tamra did none of that.”
According to Vicki, “That shows Sidney, ‘I’m not important to you.’ I don’t care about my money, my stuff. I care about my family, my daughter, my people in my life, so that’s the problem.” Vicki went as far as to claim that even though Tamra was “off the show for two years,” she “never connected” with her daughter. Vicki didn’t stop there, as she had a lot more to say as the podcast went on. During the early years of the series, Vicki was privy to information due to her close relationship with Tamra.

The mother of two was then asked whether Tamra ever opened up about her issues with Sidney. Vicki replied, “No,” but added, “Every now and then when she was crying in someone else’s arms this season, it’s like, ‘Oh please.’” According to Vicki, there is a “pretty simple” solution to Tammy Sue’s problem. “Get off the show and reconcile with your daughter,” she suggested. The Coto Insurance guru noted that Tamra would often claim the situation was “so hard.” But again, Vicki disagrees, saying, “No, it’s not.”
“You gave birth to your daughter, you f*cked up,” she added. “Go apologize and make it better, and move on. Maybe she chose Eddie Judge over her daughter, I don’t know.” However, there has never been any hint that Eddie and his stepchildren didn’t get along. Vicki then added there’s “no flipping way” she could go on “not being close with my daughter.” Vicki doubled down, adding, “I don’t get how she cries on TV. And Sidney said, ‘Please don’t mention me. Please don’t do this,’ and the next thing you know, she’s bawling. She could turn on the waterworks like that. Anyway, that is a character issue and something that’s freaking weird.”
Vicki has no right to say anything about Tamra’s estrangement from her daughter. In fact, I wonder if she even thought that her comments could make things worse for her former friend. Clearly, Tamra is navigating the murky waters as best she can. But Vicki’s sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong surely won’t help the matter. Good thing no one has asked Vicki’s children about her parenting style…
