Nicole Polizzi’s now a married mom of three who stars on MTV’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. However, most of us were introduced to her as Snooki, Jersey Shore’s belligerent-yet-somehow-still-lovable partying meatball.
One of Snooki’s most iconic scenes happened during Season 3 in the summer of 2010. She got falling-down day drunk and jogged down the Seaside Heights, NJ boardwalk warbling, “WHERE’S THE BEEEACH?!” Ultimately, she ended up being arrested for disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, and criminal annoyance.
Now 13 years later, she just shared some behind-the-scenes secrets from that day. Most notably, she claims one of the producers instructed the cops to arrest her.
Snooki recalled the lead-up to her blurry beach day
Snooki revealed some unknown tidbits about her infamous bender and arrest on the August 28 episode of the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast.
Snooki recalled her messy situation. She says when she woke up to go to work at the Shore Store that day, she felt a hangover approaching. So, she drank some more.
“I woke up that day and I was drinking nonstop. So you know when you wake up and you feel like the shakes are coming? You’re like, ‘I’m going to s—t, I’m going to throw up, but I have to be on camera and I have to go [to] this shift.’”
Once she got to work, she drank some more to ward off “the shakes.” Ultimately, she decided to just head to the bar.
“So that’s when I ran; I just ran to the bar. I took shots just to start feeling better and then I just didn’t stop. I felt good, I was like, ‘I’m not going to go back to work,” she recalled.
Then she decided she wanted some sun and sand. “I knew the beach was right there, but my drunk self was like, ‘How do I get on the beach?’ Because there’s only a certain amount of entries to get on the beach. I couldn’t find them anywhere, so I was like, ‘Where’s the beach? How do I get on the beach?’ And the guy’s like, ‘Right there,’ and I’m like, ‘I know, moron. How do I get on the beach?’”
Snooki: “one of the producers said, ‘just arrest her'”
Once she was on the beach, the cops eventually swooped in. Though Snooki says she “started to black out when the cops were handcuffing me,” she later found out that they actually worked for production.
She revealed, “Those cops weren’t on shift for the town. They were on shift from production to make sure they are protecting us from crazy people. So I don’t even think it’s legal because they weren’t working for the town, but I watched the video back and one of the producers said, ‘Just arrest her.’”
Her charges got dropped. But, she did have to pay a $500 fine and complete two days of community service.
What a zebra-printed, alcohol-scented trip down memory lane! Can’t blame her for not planning to let her kids watch the show.
