Kamala Harris’ team proved its connection with younger voters once again. This time, the presidential candidate’s TikTok page made good use of Heather Gay’s iconic audio from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4.
Who could forget RHOSLC Season 4’s iconic ending? The unprecedented fourth wall breaking had news outlets and media commentators scrambling to report on the story. Since Heather uncovered the whole debacle, she became the center of it all, receiving first chair at the reunion.
Heather made it loud and clear that she had “Receipts” of Monica Garcia’s treacherous behavior. And much more than that. Her dramatic announcement arguably became one of the most iconic Housewives moments of all time. And Kamala HQ certainly took notice.
Former Trump secretary shows “Receipts” at DNC
On the night of August 20, the Kamala HQ TikTok account posted a video from the Democratic National Convention. The video showed a former Trump official who “pulled out receipts at the dnc” as the overlayed text put it. Naturally, Kamala HQ pulled out Heather Gay’s now iconic audio to really set the video’s tone.
“Receipts! Proof! Timeline! Screenshots! F*cking everything!” The RHOSLC fans know exactly how it goes at this point. Commenters on TikTok gave more context to the clip. The top comment read, “It was his former Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham!” Behind Grisham was a screenshot of text messages, which we now know were between Grisham and former First Lady, Melania Trump.
Grisham reportedly texted Melania on January 6, 2021, writing, “Do you want to tweet that peaceful protests are the right of every American, but there is no place for lawlessness & violence?” Melania responded with a simple “No.” For those following Kamala HQ, the audio fit all too perfectly in the video’s context.
