The Real Housewives of New York City Season 15 is almost here, and I can’t wait. The entire squad from last season is back along with two new faces: Rebecca Minkoff and Racquel Chevremont. While Racquel is a full-time housewife, Rebecca will appear as a friend. But after a hot mic incident, Sai De Silva is defending what she said about Rebecca. You have to appreciate the beauty of a hot mic moment.
Sai De Silva claims that Rebecca Minkoff is “a sweet person” after her hot mic moment
Sai returned to the scene of the hot mic crime as a guest on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. Host Jeff Lewis reminded Sai that the last time that she was on, she was warned repeatedly about the mic being on.
At the time, Sai said of Rebecca, “She’s nice. She’s really, really nice, but [she’s] kind of boring, to be honest,” Sai stated. “She’s too nice for the show.” Then, when someone suggested that the cast bring Rebecca down a notch, the RHONY star replied, “I think people are trying to take her down, but she’s unresponsive.” I mean, Sai could have said worse.
During her recent chat with Jeff, Sai said that she didn’t know how many times she was warned. “I don’t really recall. I just don’t understand. Why are you recording commercials?” Sai remarked. “How am I, when am I supposed to talk sh*t about people?”
When Jeff referenced Sai talking about a RHONY co-star, Sai defended her comments. “It wasn’t bad at all. I said the girl was nice,” she stated.
Of course, Jeff wasn’t finished with this topic. “She’s too nice. She’s too nice. Too nice to do this. Right?” he said. “I would love for someone to say I’m too nice.” Right on cue, Sai responded, “And no one’s ever gonna say that.”
Sai didn’t know the story leaked to the press
When Jeff explained how the story exploded in the press, Sai was surprised. “No, I live in a bubble. I really, I have learned how to block out press,” she explained. “For my sanity. I had no idea, and it was actually Rebecca who texted me. I had no idea that it had even gotten out. It was Rebecca because…”
Once again, Jeff stirred the pot. “Rebecca’s the person you talked sh*t about,” he said.
“I didn’t talk sh*t about her. I said the girl was nice and she is a nice person,” Sai explained. She continued, “So she texted me and then she only sent me the clip and then question mark and I was like, ‘What?’ I watched it and I go, ‘I literally had no idea.'” Sai added, “I said, ‘What? You are very nice,’ and doubled down on it.”
Plus, Sai said that she actually knows Rebecca. “I like her. I’ve known Rebecca for a while … she really is a sweet person,” Sai said.
Well, at least Sai didn’t unleash her inner Lisa Barlow during her first hot mic moment. It doesn’t look like she said anything that would sever her relationship with Rebecca.
