The Paris Summer Olympics are about to start, and the entire world is preparing for the athletic event. In May, 11,000 torchbearers formed a relay to celebrate the arrival of the Games in France! To be given a place in the relay is a great privilege, but to be one of the four to carry the Olympic flame into the stadium is everything. Usually, they are some of the country’s highest-level athletes who are icons among their people.
So naturally, I needed to put together a list of Real Housewives who could carry the same burden. Picture it: BravoCon 2025. The four top housewives line up in their gowns, and each has a chance to carry the Olympic torch down to the center of the convention center. Only one will be given the ultimate privilege to light the flame in Andy Cohen’s clubhouse. But who should carry the Olympic torch?
Olympic Torch bearer – Kim Richards
The first torchbearer would have to be Kim Richards, mainly because she is used to handing stuff, like a blue plush bunny, back to another person. But in all honesty, Kim showed what it was like to persevere while white-knuckling an addiction. She often was caught up in some manic fights, but Kim made for compelling TV. To be an Olympian, one has to focus their entire lives on being the best they can be.
I would argue that after years of struggling, Kim was finally able to put herself first and get healthy. Her eccentricity made her a one-of-a-kind Real Housewife. For five seasons, Kim sacrificed herself for the better good of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. So, I would like to see her get her spot in the limelight, being the first to carry the torch.
Olympic Torch Bearer – NeNe Leakes
It is always important to pay homage to the Real Housewives who carried the franchises for the first decade. Enter NeNe Leakes. The mother of two stole every scene on the Real Housewives of Atlanta thanks to her expressive personality. She paved the way for the many Bravo stars after her and became a GIF-able household name. If reality TV had a Wheaties box like the athletes, NeNe would be on it wearing all her gold medals.
Like any good athlete, NeNe brought the drama and the suspense. The actress often said what the audience was thinking and was able to break out of the mold. She went on to have a successful acting career and has never looked back. NeNe will forever reign as one of the top competitors, Real Housewives star.
Olympic Torch Bearer – Vicki Gunvalson
Vicki Gunvalson is that underdog we all keep rooting for. Life has never been too hard for the mother of two, but she has had her fair share of disappointments. Just like an Olympic contender, Vicki has had trials and tribulations and hurdles every step of the way. While most athletes are looking to fill up their fuel tanks, Vicki just wanted her love tank full. The Real Housewives of Orange County star never slows down and puts her all into work and passion projects.
Like Lindsay Horan on the United States Women’s National Team, Vicki is a Bravo legend. Vicki has been documenting her life since Season 1, and she never lets anything get her down (except, well, everything gets her down). Not even a demotion a ‘friend of.’ If there were a captain of the Real Housewives team, it would be Vicki, who is always ready to “whoop it up.”
Olympic Torch bearer – Dorinda Medley
As the hostess with the mostess, Dorinda Medley would be the lead torchbearer, lighting the ceremonial flame for the BravoCon games. Dorinda is all about presentation and would know exactly how to make the moment nice for everyone watching at home. Dorinda is a hot mess right before a big scene, but she is delightful nonetheless. I imagine during training when asked how she was doing, she would reply, “Not well, bitch!” but she would always come out as the victor. At the very least, she would walk out wearing Jovani.
