Throughout Vanderpump Rules Season 11, we were all rolling our eyes at Scheana Shay for her willingness to help rehab Tom Sandoval’s image. It felt like an odd move. Why be so supportive of a serial cheater who blew up your friend’s life?
Scheana finally switched up on Tom when the news broke that he was trying to sue Ariana Madix for her role in uncovering Rachel Leviss‘ sexually explicit videos. She quickly took to social media and slammed him for filing the lawsuit, which, once again, felt like an odd move. Why respond to something that doesn’t have anything to do with you? There has to be a method to her madness.

Us Weekly spoke to Scheana about why she was so quick to weigh in on Tom’s lawsuit. According to her, she simply wanted to make it known that she didn’t condone his behavior. She was in London when the news of Tom’s lawsuit dropped and felt compelled to “have a rant” about the issue.
“I kept getting all these messages and I’m like, ‘What the f-ck is he thinking?’ I have to say something because if I don’t say something, I seem either complicit or like I agree with this behavior,” Scheana explained. “But if I do say something, it’s like I’m trying to make it about myself.”
Meanwhile. Tom has distanced himself from the lawsuit. He claimed he didn’t mean to sue Ariana and is working overtime trying to dig himself out of another hole he dug for himself. Either way, Scheana wanted VPR fans to know that she’s no longer supportive of Sandoval, even if she’s a little late to the party.
Scheana explained, “They can say I’m backpedaling, they can say that I’m trying to make this about me, but I just don’t support that behavior, and if people want to say it’s too little, too late, whatever. At least I’m saying something because something needed to be said.”
