Imagine you just got fourth place on Love Island USA. You’ve been sequestered for weeks. You finally get your phone back and you learn that there’s an NSFW video of you going viral on social media. That was the unfortunate reality for Season 6’s Kendall Washington, who had a sexually explicit video leak on social media, right at the same time the finale aired.
The dust is still settling from the Love Island finale, but Kendall wasted no time addressing the compromising video floating around on the internet. He immediately posted on Instagram a response to the leaked video, and he’s handling the situation with the utmost class.
Kendall’s heartfelt response
On Instagram, Kendall addressed the elephant in the room with a little bit of lightheartedness. He started off his message by saying, “What a way to get my phone back y’all?.”
“I just want to address the content that came out from my past,” he continued. “That was something I shared to someone in confidence and trust. It’s unfortunate that it’s no longer private but it is what it is.”
Thankfully, Kendall seems to have a solid group of family and friends on his side during this time. On Instagram, he made it clear that this messy ending to his Love Island journey didn’t soil the whole experience. He’s grateful for the experience and the reality TV love he found with Nicole Jacky. Plus, he’s “excited” to see what’s next, which could be anything at this point.
“I want to thank you all for the calls/texts to support me during this time,” he continued. “I am so grateful for my Love Island experience, and I love you all for tuning in to watch my journey.”
