In his recent Watch What Happens Live appearance, Scream star David Arquette had some choice words about Lala Kent. David and Lala worked together on a film called Spree back in 2020. The two never had any scenes together, but David still remembered Lala.
“We met a couple of times at the screening and stuff,” he said. “Not the friendliest to me.” Giving further context, he said, “[She] gave me a little attitude. I felt a little attitude, know what I’m saying? I wasn’t trying to give attitude; I was like, ‘Why am I getting attitude?’”
Andy Cohen joked that David might’ve felt like he was in his own episode of Vanderpump Rules. Most people were unsurprised by David’s characterization of Lala. However, it must’ve pricked Lala’s heart, because she decided to apologize almost immediately.
Lala says she was “intimidated” by David and other stars
In an Instagram story on July 22, Lala tagged David and wrote out an apology for her poor behavior. “I apologize if I was not friendly to you on the set of Spree,” she wrote. “I’d like to point out I was on set with many people, you being one of them, who are well known, established actors. I am a girl on reality TV.”
Lala continued, “I felt intimidated and a bit like I did not belong, all the while being incredibly grateful for the opportunity. I’m sorry if that came off as an attitude. It was not my intent.” Why does this apology give off major ‘I’m sorry you felt that way’ vibes? Maybe because it’s from Lala.
And what’s with the strange explanation/excuse? Seems odd that insecurity would translate into perceived rudeness. Nevertheless, Lala did still apologize, and perhaps that counts for something. Arquette seems like a fine enough guy, and he probably won’t hold anything against Lala. And VPR fans know that she’s got bigger fish to fry at the moment.
Vanderpmp Rules is streaming on Peacock.
