The artificial intelligence craze continues! You can’t go more than 2 minutes without hearing someone groaning about AI, and now, it’s taking over the Big Brother house. CBS just announced Big Brother 26, and it’s going to be “AI-themed.” Get ready to meet BB AI.
Your first look at Big Brother 26
In all honesty, Julie Chen should be very afraid because the synopsis for the new season feels like robots are trying to take over her job. According to CBS, the “BB AI is taking over the house,” which will deliver “the most unpredictable season of Houseguests.”
If you’re not sold on the AI, just remember that there’s no way it can be worse than last year’s multiverse theme. Plus, Entertainment Weekly got a sneak peek at the house and it seems like the AI theme has helped deliver some unique design choices for the house.
In one picture of the house, you can see the Have-Not room transformed into a dizzying matrix design. The execs at CBS teased that the “BB AI crashed,” leaving behind the “wireframe skeleton.” In another picture, multi-colored bedrooms look like something out of a sci-fi movie.
CBS didn’t reveal too many details about how BB AI will impact the gameplay. Surely, it will throw a few twists at the Houseguests. Everyone knows AI is not to be trusted.
Big Brother isn’t the only competition reality show taking on AI. The latest season of The Circle also incorporated an AI twist, with one of the “contestants” secretly being powered by a computer. That plot device to fool those contestants, but will it trick the savvy new Big Brother players? We shall see.
Big Brother 26 premieres on CBS, Wednesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 18, at 9/8c on CBS.
