Season 18 of Real Housewives of Orange County premieres July 11 on Bravo. The new season promises new drama, a new cast member, and of course, new taglines.
The taglines for Season 18 have not yet been released but we usually get them at some point before the premiere. While we wait, let’s take a look back at some of the most iconic taglines in the show’s 18-year history.
‘It’s just money and you can’t take it with you’ – Jeana Keough
The Season 1 “taglines” weren’t so much taglines but rather random soundbites taken from the season. Lauri Peterson’s was literally just her saying, “Are the police involved?” For this reason, most of the first season taglines were forgettable, but Jeana Keough’s stood out from the pack.
Her tagline, “It’s just money and you can’t take it with you,” perfectly summed up the show and the lifestyle of Coto de Caza. The women of RHOC spend money like there is no tomorrow.
‘I want the power and the money, and I want them both’ – Vicki Gunvalson
Vicki Gunvalson’s Season 4 tagline, “I want the power and the money, and I want them both” fits her to a T. The RHOC star is known for being ambitious and a bit of a workaholic. She wants it all and we love that about her.
‘I’m smart, I’m sexy, and I’m confident. Of course people are gonna talk about me’ – Gretchen Rossi
“I’m smart, I’m sexy, and I’m confident. Of course people are gonna talk about me,” is Gretchen Rossi’s Season 5 tagline. The Entrepreneur constantly found herself in conflict in Season 5, so it makes sense her tagline would reflect that. Her cast mates questioned every facet of her life. They questioned her businesses, her relationship with Slade Smiley, and her previous marriage with Chris Rossi, who was 24 years older than her.
‘God is my savior, my husband is my king, and my body? It’s sinful’ – Alexis Bellino
We had to include Alexis Bellino’s iconic Season 6 tagline on this list. The woman loves Jesus, so it’s no surprise she found a way to reference her faith in her tagline. Alexis is making her return to RHOC this year as a “friend of.”
‘My tank is full and I’m driving into my future’ – Vicki Gunvalson
Vicki’s Season 7 tagline, “My tank is full and I’m driving into my future,” was a play on her numerous “love tank” speeches in the previous season. She was always talking about how her love tank was empty in like, every episode,
‘I may be married to a plastic surgeon, but I’m 98 percent real’ – Heather Dubrow
Heather Dubrow’s Season 7 tagline was very fitting for a show about Orange County. The ladies of RHOC have all flirted with cosmetic procedures, whether it be botox, boob jobs, or filler. If there was a potion that promised eternal youth, these ladies would take it like a shot.
‘The O.C. is full of secrets, but I have nothing to hide’ – Shannon Beador
Shannon’s Season 9 tagline, “The O.C. is full of secrets, but I have nothing to hide,” is one of the most underrated taglines in my opinion. It’s true, Shannon has been an open book on RHOC. She’s owned her mistakes and answered the tough questions.
‘I am the OG of the O.C.; everyone else is just a copy’ – Vicki Gunvalson
In Season 10, Vicki was the only OG left standing, which is quite an accomplishment She earned the right to throw a little shade at her co-stars for being Housewife newbies. By Season 9, Vicki was basically a veteran Housewife. She knew the game like the back of her hand.
If you can’t take my sparkle, then stay off my rainbow – Lydia McLaughlin
Lydia McLaughlin returned to RHOC for Season 12 with a great tagline. “If you can’t take my sparkle, then stay off my rainbow,” describes her personality perfectly. She’s sweet and tiny but not afraid to stick up for herself. It was a great choice,
‘I’ve closed the old Bea-door and opened a new one’ – Shannon Beador
Shannon chose a pun for her Season 15 tagline and honestly, it worked. It made me laugh the first time I heard it. The tagline also fit her arc for the season. Overall, it did its job.
