In the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 premiere, Shannon Beador will get candid about her DUI. In a moment of vulnerability, cameras saw the Housewives veteran tearing up around her daughters.
RHOC fans almost certainly remember the news of Shannon’s DUI. As Shannon explained in the premiere preview, she was leaving John Janssen’s in the dust after an intoxicated fight. Once she got into the car, she revved up her engine to express her anger and lost control.
Past accounts seem to disagree with Shannon’s version of events. However, despite all the rumors and unknowns, Shannon can’t deny that she crashed and was arrested that night. And the remorse hit her like a truck.
Shannon laments the example she sets for her kids after being arrested for the DUI offense
Shannon became unexpectedly emotional as she sat with her daughters discussing Stella Beador’s college experience. She cried as she explained her inability to visit her daughter in college. “It was my intent to come and visit you, and because of my mistakes, I wasn’t able to come, and I feel bad.”
“I’m so sorry and humiliated that I disappointed you,” she continued. “Like, what kind of example am I at 59?” Stella said she and her sisters were simply glad that Shannon was okay, and that she was looking to learn and grow. Still, Shannon lamented all the terrible things that occurred that night.
“I’ve never broken a bone, I’ve never had a concussion, I’ve never been in an accident, I’ve never been arrested, I’ve never had a DUI, and I did all that in 10 seconds.” Nevertheless, Shannon assured her kids, “God has a plan. I absolutely believe that. She also noted that the experience led her to see “who [her] true friends are.”
