In 2017, Bravo cast Margaret Josephs on Real Housewives of New Jersey. Marge was a bit older than the OG cast but spunky. She quickly bonded with Teresa Giudice after offering a lovely wreath in honor of her late mother. The Macbeth Collection owner quickly learned Tre wasn’t the easiest to trust and eventually befriended Melissa Gorga. For multiple seasons, I always saw Margaret as the Garden State housewife who had all her ducks in a row. But Season 14 has shown how vindictive Marge can be, and personally, I am loving this new era.
Marge’s messy texts
Move over, Shereé Whitfield; a new bone collector is in town. In the latest episode, the Real Housewives of New Jersey, Margaret proved she had no problem being the one who collected everyone’s secrets only to spill them with no worry of the repercussions. The blonde in pigtails was enraged after Jackie Goldschneider started to dismiss their friendship. So what was left for Marge to do? Send private conversations between the two to Dolores Catania to prove Jack likes to talk out of both sides of her mouth, obviously.
The move was pure evil but in all the good ways. I understand that is an oxymoron, but Marge delivered the devastating blows with such fortitude. Jackie was doing her best to save face with Dolores, but cameras cut to Marge furiously typing on her phone with her husband, Joe Benigno, signaling the muscle of New Jersey to check her phone.
Marge covers her tracks
Being the perfect bone collector means you don’t leave a massive trail of clues behind you. Marge is great at not putting anything in writing, which means nothing can be linked back to her. A perfect example of this is when Jackie tries to save face by claiming that Marge talks badly about everyone in the group, including Dolores and her boyfriend. Instead of taking the bait, Dolores noted, “She’s smart. She’s a lot smarter than you, I guess.”
For multiple seasons, people have accused Margaret of spreading rumors about her friends. When the rumors about Evan Goldschneider’s cheating started to circulate, Tre got the blame. However, some fans believe that Marge started the gossip chain. However, the hypothesis has never been proven beyond reasonable doubt.
The name calling
What makes a fantastic bone collector is their way with words. Margaret has come up with some pretty clever one-liners to get her point across. Who could forget how she demolished Jennifer Aydin with “Your lips look like a monkey’s asshole.” She has had choice words for almost everyone in the series. She once fought with Danielle Staub, telling her, “Prostitutes f*ck married men, and you’ve f*cked a lot more married men than I have.” And currently, she is using her sharp tongue to take down the “little assh*le,” aka Jackie.
She pushes husbands into the pool
Bone collectors don’t give a damn how others perceive them as long as they get their point across. For Margaret, this can best be explained with a trip back to Season 9. The entrepreneur had enough of Danielle and husband Marty Caffrey’s BS and decided to do something about it. As tensions arose, the ladies had been at one another’s throats all season.
Joe and Marty exchanged some heated words, with the contract, sharing, “Marty’s a f*cking dick. He was a great guy to hang out with, and then Danielle poisoned his mind.” Their beef started at the Bimini wedding, where Joe joked that Danielle was only with his friend for the money. However, Mary felt wronged and hit back, saying, “Margaret doesn’t want to walk into a room with Danielle because nobody will look at Margaret.” Eventually, Margaret became tired of Marty’s insults and launched him into the nearby pool. Then she proceeded to calmly tell Danielle, “Your husband’s in the pool.”
I live for Marge. She is kooky, eccentric, sassy, and epitomizes New Jersey. I can’t wait to see how far she goes for Season 14 and what she is willing to reveal about the others she was once so close with.
