Caroline Stanbury is used to being one of reality TV’s biggest villains. The now Real Housewives of Dubai star used to be the face of another Bravo show; Ladies of London. After the network axed that, we didn’t hear much from Stanbury. But now that she’s back, she’s reminding viewers weekly why she’s one of the best to ever do it.
Last season, she faced a lot of backlash, not only from the fans but also from her co-stars, like Chanel Ayan and Lesa Milan. During the reunion, the pair came for Caroline hard, but that didn’t turn the London native away. Instead, she came back more ready than ever.
Caroline won’t let the haters dim her light
During her chat with The Daily Beast, Caroline opened up about her Season 1 lows, like being the target of some of the group’s biggest feuds. “Last year, they really caught me off guard. It was so tough for me, as everyone knows. Everyone came after me, one after the other,” she said.
“This year, I refuse to let them kill my mojo. I’m just going to be me. Everyone’s really responding [positively] to me now, and I’m back to who I was.”
Three episodes from Season 2 have aired so far, and they show Caroline in a better place with the group. “I realized that some of them are going to come for me just for breathing,” she said about her existence on the show. “I try and rise above it as much as I can. I let most of the comments go over my head, because mostly they just sink themselves, not me.”
The 48-year-old continued, saying she’s not interested in fighting with her co-stars. “There’s no point fighting people,” she explained. In her eyes, they’re going to “say what they want anyway.”
“You can’t get mad when they have an opinion.”
We’ll see if she keeps that mindset up throughout the rest of the season.
