Portia Umansky turned 16 back in March. But that didn’t stop Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky from getting together to surprise her with a gift. As everyone should be well aware of by now, Kyle and Mauricio aren’t exactly together anymore.
Bravo showed some of the marital tension on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, albeit sparingly. Those following the couple then got to see more via Buying Beverly Hills. And while it still feels like some details are unclear, what’s obvious is that Mau and Kyle are done.
Still, the two deserve some measure of commendation. Reality couples who split often let their kids get caught in the crossfire. And while cameras showed their daughters enduring a fair deal, things seem to be going smoothly for the Umansky family. Case in point …
Mauricio and Kyle surprise Portia with a Porsche
On June 18, Sophia Umansky posted a TikTok that showed Portia’s reaction to her late birthday present. In the video, Mauricio opened the front door to reveal a Porsche outside the house. Both Kyle and Mauricio asked, “Whose car is that?” After her jaw dropped, Portia responded, “Are you kidding me?”
She was clearly overcome with emotion at the gift and thanked her parents in earnest with hugs. In another TikTok, fans got to see Portia taking the car out for a spin with her family piled into the seats. “I’m whippin’ it!” the teen joked as her family cheered her on. “I’m obsessed!” she added.
Commenters shared an outpouring of support for the family. The most popular comment on the initial video read, “I love that even though they are rich and have had everything their entire lives they are still so grateful and kind ladies! Bravo parents!!!!!” Indeed, Kyle and Mau deserve some props, however small, for keeping their parenting together amid their split.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is streaming on Peacock while Buying Beverly Hills is streaming on Netflix.
