Was Lisa Vanderpump playing favorites with Tom Sandoval in Vanderpump Rules Season 11? To anyone watching, it kind of felt like Tom received special treatment, but LVP is standing firm that she is NOT Team Sandoval.
It seemed quite clear that the show was moving toward a redemption arc for Tom. Viewers were pretty upset about that. Most people agreed that Tom had taken no accountability in his treatment of Ariana Madix. Thus, redemption felt undeserved.
Ariana made that very clear. She was not willing to forgive Tom. She wasn’t even willing to talk to him. So, why did the rest of the cast come around to him? Well, Lisa recently explained where she stood.
Lisa tries to explain everybody’s actions while insisting she’s Team Mediator, not Team Sandoval
While on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Lisa addressed her allegiances. Rumors suggested that Ariana was upset with Lisa for being Team Tom, but Lisa denied any such thing. “No, I’m definitely not on Team Tom. I’m on Team Vanderpump. I’m on Team Mediator. I was disgusted by the whole thing, I just, the whole thing felt very grubby.”
She further explained her treatment of Sandoval by saying, “When Tom was really struggling … I was like, ‘This is too much.’” As such, in her mind, the treatment wasn’t preferential, it was just necessary. Lisa also addressed some other hot topics from Season 11, like Ariana’s refusal to have a conversation with Tom.
Lisa said, “They felt, for the show, they put everything out there, and they felt if she can live in the same house, it felt like, ‘Come on, you can’t keep saying, I’m not talking to you.’ People want to know how you feel. [But] listen, it’s up to them to make decisions. This show isn’t produced.”
She also spoke about some of the negative reactions to Ariana’s behavior this season. More specifically, she spoke about Lala Kent’s recent words regarding Ariana. “These young people, their friendships changed like you change your socks. It moves so quickly. Before you know it they’ll be, but at the time, they had valid feelings and I think they should express them.”
