Now that Mauricio Umansky has moved out of their Encino home and into his own place, he and estranged wife Kyle Richards are spending individual time with their 16-year-old daughter Portia Umansky.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG recently spoke about her new parenting style. When asked if Portia splits her time now between her two parents, Kyle had a surprising response.
“I mean, I guess, technically she would have to,” Kyle said. “But it doesn’t feel like that … [Mau and I] have a great relationship. And it’s like, if she wants to go, she goes. If she’s here, sometimes we’ll have dinner, and we’re just like, ‘It’s whatever you want to do.’ There’s no set thing.”
Portia’s rules
“She’s 16 years old,” Kyle said during a June 4 Amazon Live stream. “There’s no fighting involved in my relationship with Mau at all so that part is very nice. I don’t have to deal with any of that, thank god.”
Additionally, Kyle, Mauricio, and their four daughters still enjoy family time and traveling together. The entire family recently attended Stagecoach 2024 in the California desert en masse. Besides Portia, Kyle and Mau share older daughters Alexia, Sophia, and Farrah Brittany, whose biological father is Guraish Aldjufrie, Kyle’s first husband.
Kyle explained her new family dynamic to Andy Cohen in an October 2023 appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “When the news first came out,” she said, “it was really, really devastating for the whole family. I mean, our phones were blowing up, my kids were just crying and wouldn’t leave the house, and it was really, really difficult. But now, they’re much better.”
“They’re really strong and they’re just so together and so smart,” Kyle added happily. “They’ve been my best, best, best friends, and I could not be more proud of them. They’re just amazing human beings, and thank God I have them through this.”
