Heather Dubrow is spilling the orange juice on the upcoming Season 18 of Real Housewives of Orange County.
Ever since we first heard that RHOC alum Alexis Bellino was seeing Shannon Beador’s ex, John Janssen, we knew there would be drama. Now that Alexis is returning to the show as a “Friend of” the cast — well, some of them anyway — there will certainly be tension among the OC ladies.
As a longtime friend to both women, Heather is caught in the middle of it all. Her loyalties to two of her besties are torn as the cast negotiates the love triangle drama.
Torn between two longtime friends
“This is a hard situation for everyone to navigate,” Heather told E! News. “These are tough waters to swim. Shannon is my friend, and I wanna support her in the best way that I can … Alexis is my friend, and I want to support her in the best way I can. I really just want everyone to be happy.”
The mom of four teased that the upcoming season would be “quite interesting.” With Alexis returning to the cast and dating Shannon’s former boyfriend, sparks will surely fly.
“I heard the first three episodes are amazing,” she added. I can’t wait.
Heather admits that when she first encountered rumors about John dating one of her former castmates, she dismissed them. “When I first heard it, I didn’t really believe it,” she confessed. “I didn’t believe it until Alexis told me.”
More than just the love triangle
Heather also promised that RHOC’s new season will include plenty of other storylines besides the Shannon/John/Alexis love triangle.
“So much happened this season that I don’t even know how they’re gonna fit it all in,” she said. “The dynamic is really good, and we have so many strong people around, which is nice. So much history between so many of us. It’s a crazy season.”
“There’s a lot of laughs too,” she added. “Orange County is back to its comedic form.”
In addition to Heather, Alexis, and Shannon, Tamra Judge, Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, and Jennifer Pedranti are also returning. Though filming is complete, a premiere date has yet to be announced.
