One could argue that Tom Schwartz is still in a transitional phase post-divorce. After he and Katie Maloney split in 2022, the Vanderpump Rules star moved into an apartment. Tom Sandoval wanted Schwartz as a roommate and the topic was discussed during Season 11 of Pump Rules.
The Schwartz & Sandy’s co-owner also revealed a personal dream of buying a cabin in Minnesota. So very much an unsettled energy. But Schwartz is now revealing concrete plans for his future residence.
The VPR star may be “downsizing” in LA as well
Schwartz appeared on an episode of the Balancing Act with Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick’s podcast.
“This is… [a] dream that I think is finally coming to fruition. I have property in Florida I’m finally gonna build a house for my family there. I have this little pond. I’m super stoked about that,” he revealed.
It will be an ongoing project, while Schwartz continues to reside in California. Though to “cut costs a little bit” the Bravolebrity is “thinking about downsizing” his living space in LA.
There is the option to move in with Sandoval after all, while the renovation in Florida is ongoing. That will put Schwartz back $6,000 a month in rent.
“The optics of me moving in with Sandoval are not good for my personal growth and everything,” Schwartz admitted. But the final decision comes down to the value per month.
“I’d rather give [Sandoval] some of my money, have a little backyard, a pool, and chill out there while I build my house in Florida,” Schwartz said.
Certainly, the VPR star doesn’t want to hitch his wagon to Sandoval for the long term. But Schwartz sees the potential living arrangement as one last hurrah before one or both of them re-enter relationships.
“It for sure wouldn’t be anything long-term… I’m thinking it would be fun one last time before we get too old, we get hitched, have kids, you know, maybe it’d be fun to live together,” Schwartz suggested.
Part 3 of the Vanderpump Rules reunion airs Tuesday, May 28 at 8/9c on Bravo.
