Just when you think you know all there is to know about Lisa Vanderpump, she drops another gem. Or perhaps, a diamond. While promoting Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars Season 2 – in which she’ll go head-to-head in an “outrageous” battle against Gordon himself – Lisa told us about how she used to teach musical theater. You learn something new every day…
Lisa told her musical theater students to take things slow
“I taught musical theater at my children’s school for three years, and a lot of it was about developing confidence in young people,” LVP told Reality Tea. “Some people say, ‘I could never be on stage; I could never talk.’ Yes, you can. Just take it one step at a time.”
Lisa was making a comparison to the young entrepreneurs vying for a $250,000 business investment on Food Stars. “These were already bright individuals to be considered for this show,” she explained. “But to see them take chances and start to understand how to present themselves — I saw a lot of development, and I was very happy to see that.”
While not everybody can win the competition, it does still present a great opportunity. “I think just by being there, it shines a light on your business,” Lisa said. “Also, seeing failure sometimes as an opportunity to understand what you did wrong and then going in the right direction.”
Viewers are used to Gordon remaining stony-faced on the small screen. But, we will see a “different side” to him here.
“There were people I remember – and I’m not gonna tell you when – but I remember us both almost being moved to tears. When you see somebody stumble, and you think, ‘Oh God, this is a complete f*ck up, they’re never going to get it together.’ Then you suddenly say, ‘Oh my God, they listened, and they’ve learned, and they’ve grown!’”
Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars Season 2 premieres Wednesday, May 22 at 9/8c on FOX.
